Hi, thanks just bought a SX. I thought/think I had to change the fluid, nice to know its a smoked reservoir and its not as scummy as it looked. Much better looking and durable than the crappy white plastic that a lot of newer bikes get these days. Over all a good video. Thanks.

How do you get the base to separate? The centre section comes out easily, but the outside section I can't get separated from the top. Mine has three screws that yours doesn't. I've removed these, and I start spudgering around by the power cable channel like you do but it just won't release.
@ConnieTh6 күн бұрын
You just have to try to pry it up, work with it, use a flat screwdriver. It’s sitting pretty tight, but you still need to be careful.
@arcadely6 күн бұрын
Brilliant, thanks: I got it. It was just stubborn and needed a bit more force. I was just being too gentle with it. Managed to get it off without damaging it as well. In my case the transformer was fine but the temperature control had stopped working reliably: fixed with some contact cleaner on the variable resistor. Thanks for the video, and the reply - really helpful.

nice content but, I was analyzing your KZbin channel. your you tube SEO score is zero. It should be increased. and subscribers ,views , like, comments is very low according to your channel age. This is why your you tube growth is very low and your channel setup is also having many problems. If, you can solve this problems your channel will grow and be famous very quickly.
@ConnieTh10 ай бұрын
Hello Thanks for the comment 😊😊I don't have the slightest idea about SEO scores and KZbin settings. This channel is actually just a place for me to store my holiday memories. Not once will you find me nagging for subscribes or likes. If this channel is to grow big I have to film myself more than what the films are really about! But I refuse to pretend that coffee satisfies me sexually in order to get viewers. My channel also has very few movies compared to the channel's age. I spend up to a week editing one film if a 360 camera is involved, so the channel is way down on my priority list because I don't have the time. nor was it ever intended for the channel to be public. Since it went public though, I've made a few DIYs. I am happy (and surprised) for the viewers I have as they are more interested in the channel's content than in me. Thanks again 👍

I bought an XT 500 in 1978 and drove it from Cologne, Germany 🇩🇪 to Kathmandu, Nepal 🇳🇵. A total of 17,500 km, without any problems. My real goal was to celebrate 🎉 Christmas on the beach in Goa, which I did. In total, I spent 4 years traveling in Asia and Southeast Asia. And I found Jesus. Hallelujah. John 3:16

What kind of sprocket is that? It's definitely not OEM as the color and hole pattern are different. And where did you get the colored sprocket nuts?
@ConnieTh11 ай бұрын
The sprockets, front and rear, are from JT Sprockets. High quality! I am very sure they are better than OEM! The sprockets and chain is a kit put together by my dealer. The nuts are quite costly aluminium racing nuts. Each nut has a part number stamped. Bought them from a UK dealer, cant remember where. Very happy with them. 👍

I guess l had no idea about what l was really getting when l found my first XT500, 1980 model. Bike was in rough shape, having spent 5 years in a goat pen in west Texas. All l had to do was fix some mouse wire damage and CLEAN the carb and tank. After 12-15 kicks it was running, gotta love electronic ignition. When l found my second XT it had been sitting in the open desert in west Texas for 12+ years. This 1978 model is actually in pretty good shape. Just about all original with a little sun damage to the paint, although the seat cover was shot. Not as easy to get running as the first one but now runs well with a new Mikuni carb. I have since sold the first bike and am keeping the second. Named it PLATA, spanish for silver, Crystal Silver paint. Good job on all that you have done to that bike. Thanks for sharing dear.
