Filipinos generally work to live. Work life balance is a thing here. We know we are just cogs in the machine. People quit their jobs if it encroaches on other aspects of their lives as long as they can afford to do so.

Indian girl is pretty. I've seen many like her. Filipinos appreciate different manifestations of beauty. It's probably why Miss Universe and international women's volleyball tournaments have huge followings here. Sushmita Sen had lots of Filipino fans. We have access to Bollywood movies. There are many Indians in BPO companies. They'd probably hire her. My impression is that India seems chaotic and dangerous. Street food safety standards is sus. We have shortcuts here, too. It takes money and effort. I'm okay doing things the long way because I'm seldom in a rush. I never used a fixer in any government transaction. I'm actually seeing some African guys looking comfortable walking around our community. I've even seen one driving a small car around. He's not even intimidated by our infamous traffic situation. Americans probably find it easy to adjust because we took a lot from American culture and politics. I'm curious if the Spanish girls noticed that Filipinos use lots of Spanish words.

I don’t understand why the question is always “Do you have any culture shock in the Philippines?” I think it is very natural that when we go to other places there are things that we just see or systems that we encounter there but not necessarily shocking. They’re just different. Of course there is poverty, but it is also present in other countries - even in first world countries.

Filipinos would value your friendship than tear it up just because of a tiny meat that's stuck in your teeth. We would rather you find out about it later than put you in shame. There are also times when this kind of attitude would hurt someone in the end rather than help them. People would rather find the truth than hiding the truth from them and in the end would still put them in shame. One technique that most pinoy would do is if you have a something in your eye and they don't want to tell you they will act it out so that you can figure it out yourself rather than telling you about it bluntly. If you see someone wiping something in their eye and looking right at you odds are you have it too. LOL
