Yes always thought I was a autumn but I can’t do red in my hair…then I went to bright spring because then I would borrow from winter my hair color 😅 I always get autumn or spring in ai or apps.. I have neutral skin with warm overtone…grey-ish hair and grey eyes now I’m just lost😅😮

I INSISTED that my hairdresser color my hair “honey blonde” one time. She tried her best to talk me out of it. She did a great job, but the CLASH was a disaster. I never doubted her again.

Carol, I was analyzed by you as a true summer in 2021 (love my true summer palette). I’m naturally blonde, and I’ve heard you say that it’s very rare for blondes to be true summer. Would you talk more about why that is? I feel like such a black sheep being a true summer with blonde hair and would love to understand more!

I always wonder how some of your clients arrive at their diy conclusions… If you research enough you can really learn that she has no summer qualities - not trying to shame anyone !

I soooooo want to know what season I am. I was born with black hair and blue eyes and over time my hair lightened to a dark brown by age 3 then by age 20 medium brown. I was born with bright deep blue eyes that have gotten lighter and more Grey blue with age. I think I look better in warm reds but also silver. I have a very hard time trying to color correct all the redness in my fair/,medium skin tone because adding green turns me Grey? My favorite makeup colors are warm reds, corals, peaches, oranges, browns, silver. Maybe I will see how much a consultation is because I'm obsessed with this for some reason and addicted to your content 😂

Im a true summer and was platinum blonde up until 14 when it turned dishwater blonde a level 7/8 . I have been highlighting and bleaching my hair since I was 14 when it turned darker. I tried going back to my natural hair color, and I absolutely hated it , I just don't look good with darker hair . I had to go back to back to my ashy platinum hair after a few weeks . I felt so drab and lost my sparkle darker hair just doesn't work for me....I gave it good try tho.

Isn't going grey actually going white? They "grey" is only the perception of the white hair with the natural color? The white hairs that pop up in my hair just make me look like I'm going blond, not grey. I struggle to define my hair color these days but it's a blondish brownish reddish color. I'm 98% sure I'm a True Spring, but there's the tiny bit of doubt that's unsure 😅

One thing I notice is when a color is too bright, their face seems to go fuzzy like it's going out of focus.

🙋♀️ if this trips someone up try those mushroom taupey browns or a deeper gray blue. I used to get thrown off cause of needing a tinge more depth.

Looking at this I do wonder if so many POC are categorized as Deep Autumn/ Dark Winter because too much emphasis is being put on their dark features and not the qualities of their skin tone.

Can a summer have totally spring eye pattern?

Can a cool summer have deep clear blue eyes with hazel sunburst? In addition to very ashy brown hair, yellowish complexion, easy tan, and pink cheeks and nose? 🤭 I've read sunburst around pupil belongs to springs, but I look much better in cool summer colors, they make my skin problem less visible and eyes more shining.

Maybe that's the problem I have as a spring (not sure of my subtype) with oranges.

My blondes and browns MUST be cool, the blondes, platinum and the browns medium. But my reds must be warm and light. My skin is pale cool yellow and my eyes are dark olive.

This was such a fun and also interesting, helpful video! I picked the muted colors but wasn't sure if they were summer or autumn colors. Determining if a person's skin is opaque, translucent, strawberry milk like or has other qualities is still quite hard for me but videos like this one are SO helpful. Thank you so much for making this video and a big thanks to your client for sharing those amazing pictures 🥰❤

I knew she was an Autumn, but I thought she was a dark Autumn. What is the big difference between dark Autumn and muted Autumn?
@jannapolzin32414 күн бұрын
It's funny you say that because other apps have previously said the same. The truth is in the draping. As far as I know dark autumn colours have more black added to the tones and can cross into the deep winter palette as the dominant shared feature is deep. Deep/darker colours can wash me out. Muted autumn has more grey added to the tones and can cross into the muted summer palette, with mutedness or softness being the dominant trait. I think (I'm not trained, just a fan of colour analysis)!!

This was a really fascinating video for many reasons, but one of my personal takeaways was that the brighter colors seemed to jump ahead of her-the analogy that came to mind was the “bring forward” function in apps like Canva. In the muted colors, it felt like she was the “object” in focus/“brought forward”. Really neat idea for a video, Carol! And thank you to your client for her willingness to share!

I am cool toned as is everyone in my family so I like that you are also cool toned. I have dark hair ash hair that went silver when I was young so I used hair color for years and my dyed hair often went red which looked terrible. I finally went stopped dying my hair and I feel so much better. I’m interested in how greying hair affects your color analysis. I’m really loving your videos.

"Colour analysis is a facelift without the surgery", wow, what a quote, and how true, love that! Interesting, as my colour analyst years ago said I was a deep and neutural and she had to do further tests as not obvious if I was veering warm or cool, winter or autumn. The warmer dark autumn in fact proved better and have worn since. I had another one done (original analyst retired) as got lighter hair and softened eyes with age, told warm autumn, but feel too hot in the colours. If you are saying deep and slightly warm is neutral, do we generally fade to soft autumn, which I believe is also neutral warm, or just go for the lighter deep autumn colours, the very deep ones feel too dark and draining now. I have tried cool colours, they still do not work.

I actually have a big problem with everyone who posts a video or blog, thinking they are an expert nowadays. I see so many hobbyists, who have sewn for a few years, for instance (and good for them, its a great hobby) but they tend to think they are experts and teaching others - when they are in effect very inexperienced. I have sewn since age 6 and made most of my clothes, furnishings etc over a lifetime. Like you, life was hard at times, I did not really get going until my forties, when fed up with dead end jobs, I amazingly got into art college and studied textile design. I have worked in industry, conceptual textile art, freelance and taught on a degree course (also wrote the college weekly blog) now retired, I please myself with what I make and love colour and texture in any form; hence my obsession with colour analysis. I am showing my age, but people don't seem to know, what they don't know nowadays! Everyone seems to want a quick solution, which is stealing others work (your cut and paste problem) and not doing proper training. Sorry for the rant, but you are so right and so right to say it! We have worked hard to be where we are.
