This is the best method , and here is why , I did just the gear delete and at high rpm my balance shafts walked from vibration and started to hit the crank . Now 2nd time I use this method cut my balance shaft off the pump , it runs perfect and no problems .

The only thing that worried me is a tap on that drill, lol! Thanks man, overall great concept, seems as if though it's similar to what iabed does but you cut instead of adding plugs. This would be perfect if you could adapt the 1.8t baffle or other to fit, as you said, for cornering for those interested. Great job.

Thanks for posting this, balance shafts seized on my 2008 EOS and snaped the bolt on the balance shaft gear, was getting low oil pressure on display when reaching normal operating temp. Followed your steps and working great. Got new bolts from dealer and runing great not getting the low pressure message. Only diffrence I did was pressed the balance shafts out from the other half and just bolted it on the engine. Thanks this video saved me a lot of money I subscribed

@@taco8v Hello, I want to try this on my 2008 Passat. But can anyone explain how this fixes low oil pressure? Isnt the oil pump sprocket still tunring the same regardless of removing the balance shaft part of the assembly or not? Can someone please explain. Great video by the way.

@OgTexMusic yeah you remind with same sprocket and same set up , but heres the thing . Do to the balance shaft has not bearings between the shaft and housing it will get lose and leak oil pressure down low before it gets up to the head and trigger the oil sensor . Even if the pump is pumping normally if this leak is not fix it will not send good oil pressure up to the head . Hope you understand man

@@taco8v yes, I understand now. Thanks. so about 2 years ago I replaced my oil pump/balancer housing. i bought one on ebay for about 400. When I removed the old one it had the broken bolt at the balancer sprocket and the balancers were jammed and very hard to turn. So I put the new oil pump/balancer housing on myself and for about 2 months I thought it was fixed but the low oil pressure warning came back on. Im not sure why the one I bought from ebay would fail so soon but I guess it did. Im hoping I can use the same one and cut it and this will solve my oil pressure problem. And hopefully I dont have the broken sprocket bolt again.

Use balance shaft are the same as the one in your car because they wear out But deleting this will get rid of the problem immediately

Great Idea! I would maybe bolt up the the other half, to keep the windage under control back there, I think of the crank spinning 4K rpm out in the open back there open to all of the oil draining back down, it might cause aeration in the oil? Just a thought.

The crank doesn’t sink in the oil so it hardly touches to create air bubbles Also the oil drain doesn’t drain directly on top of crankshaft.

Love this, I had oil pressure issue on my Audi B8, 2010 model. I replaced the oil pump and had the same issue. My engen seized 2 months later. I bought another used engen and I now faced with the same issue. Will this work on a Tsfi, CD engen?

Pretty decent mod to avoid the catastrophic failure of the balance shaft / engine. Is this balance shaft mod on this TSI the same approach you would use on the 2.0 BHW TDI found in the B5 Passat?

Just curious what is the oil pressure like does it make it higher or lower ? If its higher would keeping one of those holes open drop it a little ?

Oil pressure doesn’t change its the same and you cannot leave a open hole it will be a oil leak dropping the oil pressure not sending oil to the head and a big boom will happen

Hi. My name is Thulani and I am from South Africa. I did a modification on my oil pump where I had to delete the balance shaft by cutting the small drive shaft pulley. I drove the car for a month after the modification and my car clutch failed. I am not sure if the clutch issue is linked to the modification that I did maybe due to increase in engine vibration. My car still had a dual mass clutch. Is it possible that the two are linked?...Am I suppose to replace a dual mass with a single mass clutch kit after the oil pump modification? since the dual mass is made of springs that might be affected due to increase in vibration?

Vibración? What vibración man Deleting the balance shaft doesn’t cause any vibration. Your clutch was probably on the way out and has nothing to do with the modification unless you did something wrong in the process.

Why did u send the bolt/screw all the way threw? I did this and I'm still having low oil pressure problems from I'll rev the car up and the red oil light will start flashing and beeping and did u have excessive engine/ rotational noise after doing this cause I do and it doesn't sound to good

The bolt is send all the way through to cover both holes at ones . If you don’t cover both sides you will have big leak

Chasing tail on oil pressure light new 63000km engine it put light on our shop I took back thay replaced sensor got back same thing within the drive home I took sump off was full of silicone cleaned that still low oil pressure but then other day got 2hours driving no light I'm stumped chain looks tight sprocket in place balance shaft is tight bought oil pressure gauge from fb but it electric if it is Correct it's reading no oil pressure but the gauge could be faulty it makes no ugly sounds is turned off immediately when alarm goes

it can be bacause of chain tensioner there is a little filter that gets clogged and it cant get pressure in it,so change the hole chain assembly on the camshaft and if you oil pump is fine then everything should be good to go

Lets see it , I think you want to use the 1.8t oil pump which i all ready done it . Not one has done it like me by cutting the balance shaft , utilizing the existing oil pump and paying not money for parts Lets see what is best than $0 cost I think you missing the part where it says 0 cost lol

@@taco8v no mate what you have done is going to cause you problems with oil getting to the head and circulating properly. You use the oil pump everything from the 2.0tfsi still you cut x1 cog that's it inside and that stops the balance shaft movement. That pan is there for a reason

If you refer to the bafle plastic cover the goes under crankshaft and oil pump , older cars doesn’t have it , and they go along just fine , that bafle cover only applies if you racing is when the oil gets into the head but that doesn’t cause problems, its more lubrication to the head lol but seriously i have done this a couple times and has caused 0 problems Infact in all the cases has increased the power and acceleration. Opposite what your saying
