Yea they really aren't that fast.. They are made for hooning around dirt roads and b roads, which they do extremely well. But in terms of conventional outright speed, they just aren't on par with today's superhatchbacks and sports saloons

i have an old turbo forester = 250 kmh no worries revs to 6750 in top flat out 4.11 gears and 225 x 17 x 55 tires = did it 20 times in one day = flat to the floor let the auto change in power mode ! just hang on and be a top driver at that speed !

@@Iconocla5t The difference is throttle mapping. Just makes boost come on quicker in the throw of the accelerator pedal. Meaning you might hit peak boost slightly earlier if you're slower to mash the throttle. I blew mine up twice though, so I can't stand to watch videos like these anymore...

15-20 years ago Subaru Impreza was king. 5... sek from 0 to 100 km/h was enough to beat the most powerfull and sports cars. We are in 2016 and Subaru still got 5...sek from 0 to 100km/h. In my opinion it is to heavy It is around 300kg more than first generation!

The Number that tells you what gear you in on the instrumental cluster, I can't help but notice that once you get to a certain RPM there's a flashing arrow. That helps you know when you can shift?

Next time he should select S# Mode. In this Video "Subaru WRX STi 2012 - acceleration 0-240 km/h + Vmax test" he makes it right. It took only 17 seconds from 0 - 200 and not 22 seconds like in this Video here.

The point is, you should not shift at the redline with a subaru! The power peak is much earlier (around 4000-5000rpm) if your over the power peak, it has less power, so the car would be faster if you're shortshifting.

my assumption is that the "high" redline is to avoid shifting to get a good 0-100 kph time and nothing more. Overall accelaration could be faster to "sacrifice" that time and shift earlier You must also take account to the range you drive in that time not only the seconds. A fwd car once was faster till 100kph but the overall meters traveled was the AWD subaru one car lengh in front but @ the same time a little slower. But reached the subaru claimed time!!

wrx 2.0 has it @ 5600 and a redline 7000. With a excel shift calculator and this powerband and the gear ratio i got to shift at about 6200. But the 6200 aren´t real 100kph. If you want the 5,9 sek subaru says you must rev to ~ min 6800 or so. Overall powerband and gear ratio says a little lower wich must result in a slower 0-100 time but general slighty faster acceleration to xy kph...

Very short gearing so it has to be in 3rd to reach 100km/h. This car probably feels faster then the accelaration figure suggests because the 0-100 time will be increased due to manual shifts

+LaraCroft-Azul veo que no has entendido, mi intención no es que discutamos si el cirrus es mejor auto que el sti, para nada ni hay punto de comparación y en ningun momento he dicho que un sti sea una porquería, si yo tuviera en este momento para comprar un auto de más de 600,000.00 pesos este sería mi elección indiscutible solo tuve para un focus st 2013 y solo financiado lo pude comprar, conozco la hitoria de subaru desde sus inicios quizas más de que lo que te imaginas, lo de mi cirrus fué un pasatiempo solamente me gustan lo Mopar, mi comentario sobre mi modificación fué solamente por comentar que por o con tan poco dinero las prestaciones que puedes tener de un auto al modificarlo, lo que critico es que los títulos de algunos videos son tan estúpidos que hacen reir queriendo aludir como si se tratar de algo novedoso, al compararlo con mi cirrus original de casi 20 años de diferencia no sorprende ese es el punto, hoy en dia hay autos comerciales que superan prácticamente los 400 km/h esos sí me gustan verlor y esos sí sorprenden, saludos y que tengas un buen fin de semana.

+semiautoriflelover1 Im not saying that the Tiburon is in the same league, hence the reason I facetiously said, "my damn tiburon" in the context of the STi should accelerate up to or beyond 155 (faster) than the Tiburon. In this particular video, the acceleration (m/s^2) from 125mph to top speed is about the same as the acceleration from 125 and beyond in the Tiburon GT. Also I didn't see an electronic cutoff of speed, but the halting of acceleration was due to drag and lack of HP.
