Part 10 of our 3.0 TDI Quattro Audi A5 project car vlog
In this vlog we perform our own custom Gearbox tune while measuring before and after 0-60mph times using our Racelogic Performance Box to see what difference this makes in the real world, the V-Box showed 4.74s on stock gearbox software and after some magic we managed 4.42s to 60mph with our custom tuned gearbox software, a far cry from the standard 6.03 this car managed!

​@@woody4114basically nothing because the EGR after 3.000rpm is totally closed and doesn't affect to the performance. The EGR just works basically at slow rpms like in city for example

I love this series of videos, especially when you changed to a separate microphone. I had to put subtitles on for the first part of the video - it was hilarious- one example he said boost control and it came out as "Boobs control" - obviously it can't cope with your Sheffield accent - Keep up the good work !

The Videos are very good, in focus, good audio and of course excellent content !!! had my 335d xdrive for 6 months now but had two 3.0l tdi A4's with S-tronic boxes before the BMW (both mapped) and wish i had kept my last A4, more refined, better quality and I think just as quick, although you can't argue that the ZF8 is superb, keep it up guys, very interesting.

sorry but the inline 6 rapes the v6 in every aspect. search BrooPerformance on YT these guys have 2 A5 with over 400hp and 900nm and one 335d with over 400hp and 800nm ... the BMW is so much faster.

@@xCobi Yes I agree my F30 is faster than both of my A4, without a doubt, however I'm not sure the quality is as good, and refinement is definitely lacking although it has much better toys, better infotainment, the adaptive headlights are awesome to watch them dancing around to avoid dazzling other road users, I can see the future keys of an A6 Bitdi in my hands at some point, with some mapping of course. Depending on turbo but we only tune our own. We don't tune Mercedes.

6 Speed is a standard Auto

what do you know about gearbox(s-tronic) of this generation 3 of tfsi (225hp), have the problems been solved? I know that those on the gen2 tfsi 211hp in the 2007-2013 had some problems

Depends what problems you mean? A lot of issues on these boxes are software not hardware

4.4 secs is sports car fast also your probably retaining good running costs also. For a diesel also you get a great sounding diesel with the DPF delete. I currently own a diesel fiesta and it doesnt sound exciting. Would love to get one of these but at the moment the london mayor is wanting to charge diesel owners in a few years so cant think too much about it :(

Yes porting will come when we finally find engine limit. They are slightly larger than 2.0 engine.

340bhp at the flywheel, on a Dyno Dynamics. Probably 1,000bhp on some of the dynos that the trolls are using!

Roughly 6k installed and tuned for this power. Next stage will add a fair bit of power for a small amount of money so that would be our recommendation.

The ZF8 is a superior box but all the Bi-TDi's are heavy cars too. We will make 2 turbo's on this at some point!

We have one of these in the household it's just thrown p0544 code and shows glow plug flashing light and engine management light and in limp mode trying to find the location of the 1st exhaust temperature sensor location on the internet is a no go cant find a proper workshop manual for the sq5 tdi if any one can tell me the sensor location I'm assuming it's the 1st one before cat after the last turbo ?

@@ryanp6138 I've just been outside in the dark with a torch from reading the info about the non sq5 3.0tdi it shows the 1st exhaust temperature sensor on the upper side of the pipe going down to main cat from behind the turbos from what I can find on Ebay the end connector is pinkish I can find that one as shown on the normal 3.0tdi its connected behind some other components lower than the turbo further back. And cant find one pre turbo. Thanks for your help

Hi guys your car should have launch control on it, but I won’t work untill the car is hot and oil temp is at least 80°c don’t go off the coolant temp it will need to be at 90°c on the dash for at least 5 minutes before the oil should be anywhere near hot enough to activate launch control. Oil at 80°c put into sport turn TC all the way off foot hard on brake and throttle must be flat to the floor the pushing the kick down button under the pedal down and hold and the revs should go right up to 3k hope this helps

you should only inject water, which cools and brings along extra oxygen, you do not need the methanol

Water freezes in cold temps but mainly the methanol turning to vapour is what pulls the heat from the charge air.
