I am going crazy, a haircut for under $1???!!....I just spent $19.90 for a haircut here in the US and I ended up handing her a tip of $4, she was probably expecting more. And you got a better haircut than me!! Just ridiculous! The US sucks!!

Yeah man, the quoted price was 70 rupees or under a buck. I gave him 100 and told him to keep the change of course (a nearly 50% tip, yet a total price of under $1.50). The haircut was one of the better ones I've had, and like you I've gotten haircuts for maybe twenty times the price that were certainly much worse. This was no nonsense, no frills, fast and high quality. I do imagine at this price point the quality might vary a bit, but as we've both experienced it can vary at the higher end (i.e. when paying U.S. prices) as well. Yeah in many ways I don't miss home (though in some ways of course I do), and what you get relative to what you pay is certainly one of the ways that I don't miss home at all. Spending a lot of time in countries like this and then going home, everything feels like such a rip off back home hah.
