Myself is deaf. But I've enjoyed watching you teach the students. One thing about the sign: Jungle, nah, I fingerspell it J-U-N-G-L-E. 😁

Peacelove38, Lots of folks would label "JUNGLE" as being "Signed English." I figure it is not a high usage sign. I also think of "JUNGLE" as a sign to add to their receptive vocabulary in case they end up interpreting for a Deaf person who uses the "JUNGLE" sign --- that way they (the interpreter) will recognize it. Regardless I think it is good for people to read your comment and see that there are Deaf out there who don't use the sign. Students need to be aware that just because some bald Deaf dude teaches a sign online doesn't mean that the Deaf person in their hometown uses that sign. There is a lot of variety out there.

@@sign-language that's true, so true. They do varies sign depending on their home state. Keep it up! I will continue to watch you and your students.

I love these videos so much!! I feel like I've seen the two handed "steal" sign used to mean "selfish" before, but I'm not sure. Would that usage of the sign make sense? Thank you so much for all your work!
@sign-language5 жыл бұрын
Sarah, The sign for "selfish" does indeed share a lot of similarity with the sign for "steal." They both use "V" hands that become "bent-V" handshapes. The sign for "selfish" uses a different location (neutral space in front of the abdomen) and palm orientation (down) and a repeated movement. See: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rmSldJWXmtyepcU - Dr. Bill
