Hi Jimbo, thank you for your videos, they are very helpful. International here, trying to convert an overseas Full License to a NSW Full License. I have one question: I do not own my own car, nor can I buy one because, well... I can't drive with my overseas license, so should I then book/hire a care from a Driving School for my driving test? Regards from Kingswood!

My driving instructor has given me a bunch of reasons why I should use his branded driving school car for the test when I'd really rather use my own car. I had a hunch that the main reason was the $180. Now I know for sure. Thanks for that!

This is going to sound stupid. But when you say "when you leave the bay signal five seconds".. You mean like when I exit the parking lot right? Someone told me I'm supposed to signal, before reversing out of my carpark... Which doesn't make sense to me...especially since I'll be reversing one direction then driving away in another... So yeah, do I need to signal before reversing from a car spot?
@thedrivingtestguynsw8424
@thedrivingtestguynsw8424 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Gracefully Mess yes signal 5 seconds before leaving the parking spot. You should strickly signal when reversing out as well but from my experience you don't reverse out of the parking bay (spot) if you start reversed in and just drive out at the start. Also they didn't seem to mark it if you did reverse anyway. Also a test I presented the other day signaled about 2 seconds before pulling out of the bay absolutely short of the 5 seconds required. I was expecting a signal error in zone one but nothing. In my opinion there is a large discrepancy between examiners marking.
@gracefullmess
@gracefullmess 4 жыл бұрын
@@thedrivingtestguynsw8424 but typically when reversing out of a carpark am I supposed to signal? If so then do I signal in the direction that I'm reversing or the way that I intend to drive once I have reversed (if that makes sense)
@thedrivingtestguynsw8424
@thedrivingtestguynsw8424 4 жыл бұрын
Well as I said strictly yes for 5 seconds and it should be the right signal but that's ridiculous when backing the opposite way. So I personally don't. It's your choice. If you want to signal do it. And signal the way you are backing out. Your choice.

Also because it's busy be careful not block any intersections. If you can fit on the other side wait back. I also find the afternoon traffic seems to be even more impatient with learners so just know that. Other than that best of luck.

Hi Adam thanks for your question. There are plenty of more vids coming just gotta get time to do them. I'll have the roundabout vid up soon but just to answer your question re signalling. If you are going left then signal left and let it click off. To go straight, no signal in and then just before you exit , signal left a couple of flashes. To turn right, signal right in and just before you exit signal left a couple of flashes. If you are doing a U turn, signal right in and just before you exit, signal left a couple of flashes. There's a bit more re the roundabout and the NSW P1 driving test that I want you to know, hopefully I'll have the vid up in a day or two. Hope these vids help you get your P1 licence 1STGO. Cheers :)

Hi 27 Siana. Yes they will have no problem with your car. Make sure all signals and brake lights work, no cracks in the windscreen, the exterior headlights , rear lights are not cracked, the tyre tread is good. Also check if your car has a faulty Takata airbag. If all this is ok then you should have no problems with your car. Don't forget to.get one of those bubble (blindspot) mirrors for your left side mirror.

Hi, I'm in VIC but I love ur videos and learnt a lot from them. My test is in few days and I'm using my private car. It has baby car seats fixed. Am I allowed to keep them in the car or do I have to remove them? Thanks

Hi Millie it shouldn't be a problem. If you want a more accurate answer it's best to contact Vic Roads. Thanks for watching 😃

@@rubyromail940 Hi Ruby unfortunately im not familiar with Campsie. Do some googling and read the reviews. You want an instructor that will actually teach you stuff and not just randomly drive you around.

Hi Jimbo, your videos are very helpful! Thank you! I have my driving test on the 25th of June. Can you please share the current test route for Gregory hills?

@thedrivingtestguynsw8424 3 жыл бұрын
Hello Manika good luck on the 25th :) I can't give out the test routes as it will upset some people I don't want to upset. However they generally use Smeaton Grange, around Narellan (both sides of Narellan Town Centre) and there is one that goes to Gledswood Hills.
