Scott ... congrats on your new addition! What a great tool of the trade. I like how you tested a range of stones. That first ring you tested -- the platinum setting, is a stunner. That design is one I dream of getting someday. Thanks for the demonstration!

Thanks and I'm working on alerting those in my local area that work with jewelry on the issue to promote consumer confidence.

Does this machine differentiate between a natural diamond and a mossanite

Thank you for your sharing. May I ask if this equipment can be used to test fluorescence too?
@ScottRoweGG2 жыл бұрын
It is a high energy ultraviolet light source, but I don't know the wavelength. I would check with the manufacturer, Gem Instruments at GIA.EDU and thanks for your kindness and comments.

@@ScottRoweGG Thank you so much for your reply. Mr. Rowe. I have a diamond the Gia report says none fluorescence, but it shows strong blue under ID 100. I don’t know what happened.

@@maggiesun5510 I wouldn't be concerned. The diamond grading reports are for long wave UV only. Don't he surprised if GIA doesn't give you the exact wavelength of the probe as it's their intellectual property. As a side note, when I write appraisals, I reference the fluorescence observation is under long wave for this exact reason.

Scroll up to @17:07 to see a few rough diamonds I test. Short answer is "Yes".
