1996 was a historic footnote by Duke/UNC standards- the only time since the tournament expanded to 64 teams in which neither team got a top 5 tourney seed.Wake Forest and Georgia Tech were the ACC teams du jour in '96.Duke/UNC bounced back in '97, but for this one year, things were not quite what we expect.
