I grew up in North Carolina and I am a big Tarheels fan. A friend of mine in college had an older brother who had season tickets and had an extra ticket to this game for me. It was awesome! Pure awesome! We went down to Franklin street after the game. Great times!!

Thanks for uploading old college games I absolutely love college basketball. It isn't the same now that it is today it's basically a one and done pre NBA league but these days you had star Juniors and Seniors. The fans, the atmosphere created each game I just miss these days so much!

@@josephvanhorn5347 Yes, look at the numbers. Now, I'd like to have both of them, have Jamison at PF and Rasheed at C, but then you'd have to take Tyler Hansbrough at C. I'd love to have Rasheed though, he was great.

@@larrytxeast8756 Sheed was better than both of them. He left for the NBA after his sophomore season while Jameson played one more year and Hansborough stayed at UNC until he ran out of eligibility. Sheed shot a higher percentage than both of them. He's always been a defensive monster. I can see the argument for the other guys having better careers at UNC because they were there longer than Sheed but neither of them were on his level. If there was one game vs Duke and you put one of those two in the lineup and not Sheed I think you'd have a problem with most UNC fans. You'd definitely have a problem with the other players.

This was the season that the same 4 teams topped the polls all season, Duke, UNC, Arizona and Kansas. They were the four #1 seeds in the NCAA tournament but only UNC out of the group made the Final Four and none of them made it to the final game.

Shoot! I just realize that 4 Straight ACC Player of the Year were on these 2 teams. Jamison, Brand, Casrwell and Battier. Plus Jamison, Brand and Battier were National Player of the Year. I really wanted to see both teams in the finals in 1998. It was setup for a potential UNC vs Duke National Title game that year, but unfortunately neither team made it to the finals.

They got hosed in the Final 4 against Utah. The refs were terrible....calling fouls on Jamison when he was laying on the floor. Though, Shammond was terrible in Final 4s....he was terrible the year before and then again in 98....but still, they still got stiffed by the refs in that game.

Antawn Jamisons stat in this game is RIDICULOUS!! He scored the most points in the game with 34 points and at the end of the game they mention he only touched the ball for around 35 seconds the entire game! I grew up in North Carolina and was raised a massive Tar Heels fan..I’ve been collecting Antawn Jamison cards since the 90s and my older brother got me into it because he loved Vince Carter and started collecting on a serious level..We still collect to this day and is awesome we have that childhood bond due to basketball and how good it was!

It’s so crazy that Antawn and Carter were roommates in college and played together then draft night Antawn goes 4th to Toronto and 5th Carter gets drafted to Golden State..Immediately after Toronto trades Antawn to GS for Carter and the rest is history..Michael Olokandi didn’t deserve to get drafted first..That rookie class was phenomenal! Paul Pierce,Dirk, Jason Williams, Larry Hughs, Mike Bibby, Roshawn Mcloud,Felipe Lopez, bonzi wells then Antawn and Carter!
