I think this is the first exhaust video I've seen where I wasn't forced to watch someone walk to the car after placing the camera on the ground. Nor did it have mindless chatter and yapping or annoying music. Just clean exhaust sound. Now I know what mine is going to sound like when I do the same mod. I like it.

All They Found Was A Boot It's a little bit loud and the drone is stupid loud. I thought it would sound nice but boy was the internet right. They said suck it up and buy a muffler and I didn't believe them but I sure do now.

@@bennettfriesen33 I agree 100%! I do love the growl when accelerating, but the ugly side of having exhaust mods like a muffler delete on any car really is the horrible droning, for example. IMO stock is the best because it growls very well on the police interceptors because of the dual exhaust and the resonator delete that comes from the factory!

people driving these cars does not always mean that they are impersonating police officers, or that they are criminals, or showoffs or whatever. Sometimes, like myself, I like them because of the space and power they have and because I love and wish to support our country by buying American. I have three of these cars with few miles. I got them right as soon as I heard Ford was stopping their production. It does not mean that I want to impersonate anyone, unless of course you use one of them and put lights with sirens and start going through red traffic lights. It is all about logic people. If you drive normal within the law you would not be breaking the law.

I did this exact same thing with my 2003 P71. I went to an exhaust shop and was about to pay around 350 for some magnaflow's. But I had never looked under it before and when it went up on the lift I noticed 4 cats so I knew that with the mufflers gone it wouldnt be that bad. So, just had the mufflers cut out and pipes bent and put in. Cost 100 and sounds awesome. I get people asking me all the time "whats under the hood??" And its just a muffler delete. If you have one of these cars, do it!

@bryhutch19 It seems like its running better and with the 4 cats still intact its enough back pressure to keep everything happy. It sounds great so i can't complain. Car went 15.2@90mph the way it sits in this video. Seems modded (intake, full exhaust, tune, gears) are trapping 93-96.

Unless you have experience in pipe bending and the right equipment, have it done at a shop though because both pipes you need to install have to be bent to do it right. But like I said, it cost me $100 parts and labor compared to $350-500 at other places for performance mufflers. And I love the results. If you really give it hell around buildings, it gets loud and echoes nicely off the buildings.

@bryhutch19 Nope just with revving, with the cars being automatic they have a smooth tone with the shifts unlike a stick where your on/off the gas which causes the poppin. Sounds awesome, and is def recommended.

It is a true police interceptor and I provided pictures of what i removed. Regular vic's have another set of "silencers" in the exhaust farther back by the trunk.

That is not true .... the only thing that separates a civilian Cic from a P71 is the option of Dual exhaust versus single , and the Resonator tailpipe ..... The rest is identical between the two .... Yes you could have the option of ordering a civilian Vic with Dual exhaust and or resonator delete on the tailpipe but it doesn’t make that huge of a difference in sound honestly .... These cars sound like shit with stock manifolds and shit chopped off like you have rigged together here , you are better off spending the extra time and money on a nice set of Headers , and a full exhaust , trust me they sound identical to a mustang when you do it correctly ....

I had muffler delete it's too loud and the drone is terrible, I recommend turbo mufflers a lot quieter and sounds pretty good yet.

its where combustion of excess unburnt fuel takes place somewhere in the exhaust system as they are emitted. backfiring occurs in carbureted engines when they are running too lean for complete combustion, and part of it being when the timing is too advanced. this also happens when the mixture is far too rich. usually when the intake valves haven't closed entirely, the spark ignites and flames travel back into in the carb and ignite incoming fule and air, creating a loud explosion.

These sound good with Town Car tailpipes, since they have resonators they don't drone. You can add some glasspacks in place of the mufflers and/or add small glasspacks/Bullets in the tailpipes just before the turndowns like the Town Car tailpipes. It'll still be loud but not drone as much. I did a muffler delete on my old Town Car that was single exhaust, I bought regular tailpipes and it was fine, no drone at all. But it was the older 302 engine car.

Wow you got a hell of a deal. But as far as the sound, I love it because at idle its still quiet but when you give it some throttle, it comes alive. Loud but not insanely loud. Still very mean sounding though. I was worried about drone on the highway but its not bad at all. Just sounds like a low mean tone. Putting performance mufflers on these cars is a waste of money. Just do a muffler delete. I promise you'll like it and people will think you've spent thousands under the hood.

Not too sure on that one. I myself dont plan on doing the floor shift though because I dont see enough gain to do that much work. The things I do are based on how much I will gain from it vs how much it will cost and time it will take and the floor shift just doesnt appeal to me enough. But I understand where you're coming from, i'm married with 3 kids and this is a logical toy to have that can still comfortably haul the family and is relatively cheap to modify.

You realize that those "mufflers" are actually fire suppressors/resonators, right? Not only do they help quiet the exhaust; but they allow the small amount of unburned fuei that collects in the exhaust system during prolonged periods of idling, extra time to be burned off when the vehicle has returned to "normal driving"

Sounds like crap because you didn't remove the resonators back by the axle. The resonators are built into the factory pipe back by the axle. That's why it sounds so poppy and raspy.

i own a 01 vic lx. im wondering how big the pipe is, cus i want to install glasspack exhaust. its the closest i can get to straight pipe while still being street legal. also do you know where to look for a ram bar, the ones ive seen have all bean for 03 and up. and since the 01 has different mounting brackets they wont work. if you can give any advice i would appreciate t, thanks.

Has anyone here taken a stock dual exhaust system WITH resonators in place (which are located after the mufflers and the catalytic converters and located at the rear of the exhaust system, past the rear axle & came as standard equipment (except on CVPI models) & removed the muffler only? I think it would sound quite similar to this since a stock single pipe exhaust system (like in this presentation) still has a resonator, I believe right? And how is the drone on long highway drives? Not too tiring? I have an 07 Town Car (similar chassis) with dual exhaust and dual resonators, and might want to try this. I know it doesn't add any hp, but if it sounds OK and doesn't drone on long drives, I'm in!
