01' Ram 2500 w/ 4th Gen Tie rods

After a lot of research I decided to swap out my old Y-Style tie rods for the newer generation of what they call "second design T-Style upgrade". Listen to the entire video to the end if your wanting to do this to your second gen without a problem.

I deleted the pin. Still have same tie rods to this day. No issues.

The tee style is really good. My 99 came with it from the factory though.

Zach Will I check out your t style and it's definitely t style but it looks like a more delicate setup than mine. Does yours have a 1,000,000 mile warranty from XRF? I recommend changing them out.

I couldn't understand how my 99 had a "T-style" already. I thought previous owner did it but what you're saying is new to me.

I want to do this for my 2nd gen. I want to replace the pitman arm as well should I use a 2nd gen or 4th gen pitman arm? Thank you

Jake Loehr Thanks for watching. I ordered mine from XRF. The track bar off eBay. If you got a good eye you'll know what'll fit on your truck. I do apologize i have no part numbers available.

Try searching 2008-12 tie rods for the 2500 trucks. That's the kit I used.

Its 2008 to 2012. Because I researched dodge forums for days on end trying to see what other people did to make the steering more responsive.

So go on Ebay look up xrf and get the 2008-2012/13 t style 2nd design and it will bolt right up to my 01 2500? You didn't have to ream out the tie rod holes in the knuckles or pitman arm? Or shorten the new assembly? Is your pitman arm a drop down one or stock? Will it work on a stock arm? How are you liking the setup now?

@@CoTOliver They bolted right up. There is a pin with XRF brand that needs pushed out. Also a crimp collar that'll need welded on the long one. To this day they still work like brand new.

Adjustable 0-4 inch track bar with heim joints and drop bracket all in one kit. I ordered it for my 2001 truck. Came from Ebay.

t watson I used a small flat head screw driver. Kept tapping it till one side showed itself. Then used pliers to pull it the rest of the way out.

Only if you have the dana 60 front axle.

why does it have to be a dana 60? I ask because all the connection points for the steering seems the same regardless of what axle housing you have. I ask this as a serious question because im looking to upgrade my 2001 1500 as well.

Yes. As long as you have a Dana 60 front axle. Not the Dana 44.

Anyone having trouble finding this tie rod setup search 2008-12 Dodge 2500 tie rods. That is the kit I got and it worked as shown in this video. The kit I have is not a 94-01 kit. Hope that helps.

Exactly. They suck too. T style is so much better and I still have the same tie rods to this day. XRF is the brand.
