People keep mentioning how Melo scored the game high... Well, look at the numbers. Artest did his job. A scorer is going to get his points no matter what (Kobe, Jordan, etc.). Defense is about making the scorer work. Melo had to work his ass off for every shot. Look at the turnovers too.
@AgentJ20078 жыл бұрын
+Mason Wong 21 points is not really high. It's below his point average. And yes, Melo took more shots to get those 21. He shot below 40%. Artest did a great job on him.

Metta knew Melo has a suspect handles. Want him to dribble instead of posting him up down low. He defends him high up top so he can force him dribble very smart defensive strategy.

It was 3 steps, but that's allowed in today's NBA. They count the last step as a step in the dribble, happens all the time.

Look how Melo is smiling and laughing while he is getting locked up. I like Melo and think he is really talented but he won't be a truly great player until he gets that heart and killer instinct that players like Kobe and KD have...

David Curry Artest is still the better defender and player than Ariza.
@jerrybronham8 жыл бұрын
+AgentJ2007 True that. Artest can actually dribble and doesn't required Wall, Harden, or Kobe to spoon feed open 3s for him.
@AgentJ20078 жыл бұрын
jerrybronham Yup, for those who don't know. In his prime, Artest has proven he could score around 20 PPG a game. Artest was more than just a great defender. Ariza could never score like Artest.

@bfromsd1 are you suggesting you are a better point guard than Derek fisher? You did say that you can get 12 assist with Bynum, gasol, artest, brown and odom. If you throw in Kobe, you would have at least 15 right? You must be good, I have to catch your name before get to the pros.

@BfromSD1 LOL...you really want to argue who had a better game between them two? kobes shot wasnt falling so he just went out there and got 12 assistand 2 blocks and 3 steals...he had a plus/minus of +11 compared to Melos -11 (the worst in the game or GAME LOW) and Denvers whole game plan was to have the whole team take kobe out the game and play Pau one-on-one with Kenyon while LAs plan was to play melo one-on-one the whole game with artest to not allow double team threes.
