If he would have come around in the heart of the 90’s he would have multiple defensive player of the year awards and multiple all defensive first teams. Definitely some more all star appearances. He would be a border line hall of famer.

Man I loved him when he was on the pacers. He had that mentality of “I will die before I let you score.” We needed that type of player when he was the likes of Reggie, Jermaine, Stephen and Foster. And I really believe we would have won it all if malice didn’t happen and really if he didn’t have such a big ego

It was NO coincidence Lakers won the rings in 09 and 10 when they signed Artest. He was their missing piece since Shaq left. Kobe had so much beef with Artest but at the same time wanted him on his team because he knew what Ron brought to the table. Intensity, physicality, and RELENTLESS DEFENSE. Great vid also!

Metta brought a competitive and hilarious personality that was contagious among those championship Lakers teams, and a sense of toughness and grittiness on defense that we don't see every day in the league. I think he's one of the most underrated Lakers honestly during the b2b Kobe championship runs, alongside Lamar.

I was so happy when we got Ron. I was a fan of him since his pacers days and always thought he would be a great fit next to Kobe and he was. for one year only he fell off quick but man that one year Ron made all the difference in the rematch with Boston in the finals he played great defense on Pierce and gave us the toughness we were missing in 2008. also the man ran around L.A in his underwear after they won the championship in 2010. Legend 🤣🤣🤣
