I would call it "Quinta das fragas" because of the waterfalls! Fragas is the name in Portuguese for small waterfall. 😊

@@VP-user Well, were I grew up (northern Portugal) that's what we called those kind of small waterfalls in the river. But it was always in plural, never Fragata Singular! But I am no expert in language! 😁

OK I live in California and there’s a ski resort up here called, Badgers Pass. I think that would be a grand name for your gate because you are passing through the gate and Badger did make that gate. He worked real hard. I think he deserves a little credit. “Badgers Pass”❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Good job You guys

The top Hinge attached to each post should point downwards to prevent someone just coming along and lifting off your lovely new gates onto a trailer and driving away without making a great deal of noise. I had a farmer friend to whom this happened and we simply turned the top hinge attached to the post through 180 degrees and it solved the problem. Hope this does make sense.

Quedas De Agua - it means water falls in Portuguese 😊 bearing in mind that your land translated, terra, is in an area with roaring water, it it would be very fitting to name it that ❤

Well done with the gates. Perfect fit& colour, they look great! Your stone house would you not think to swap lounge to where the kitchen is, with a large window / or french doors looking over the beautiful views, it would also be big enough for a dining table. Then what is the current lounge? It would make a nice kitchen, so all the water supply would be in that area for bathroom..

I was thinking same thing but then the bathroom would be directly off the kitchen and that isn’t ideal. no one wants unsavory bathroom smells close to kitchen. And with a family of five it will be used often. But I hope their kitchen is large enough to put a cozy sofa lounge area in it.

Fraga or plural Fragas, is the best portuguese 'northern' word for what you've got. So I'd say, Casa das Fragas, Quinta das Fragas and/or considering some mention to the river/creek name (unknown to me). Stunning stone house and peace of land you both have. Cheers from Lisbon.

“Hacienda Las Cascadas” is my vote, (i.e. the Portuguese equivalent. I only know Spanish not Portuguese.). Cause you have several little cascades and your cascading river is the best feature of your land!!! Or something with cascadas in the title. Monte Cascadas? Cascadas del Bosque? LOVE your green gates set in granite pillars!!! Great job! Wow!

We had a spring loaded stand on one side of our gates to keep them from eventually drooping. The stand on one side gave support for both.

The gates are looking so so good! Well done Badger! In regards to the name, you have so many themes to choose from. From the valley view (Vale Vista), the waterfalls ( cachoeiras ), the mountains, the mix of ancient and new stone house, or just the amount of greenery and forest. Maybe translate the words and see what catches your attention? Do your neighbours have a nickname for this property or the area where you live? Is there a plant, tree, flower that is most prolific?

Great job on the gates including the colour. Another project ticked off. With the stream river running thru your property have you ever considered a mini hydro power station? Would be a great source of winter electricity complemented by solar and wind. I realised you have other priorities atm and there is an issue of capital outlay but always worth having and opened mind about these things.
