That's the way my Grandma Rebecca RIP used to fry her corn, only she used a cast iron pan. I loved Grandma Beck's way, but my mom taught me to fry it different and I love that too. Thanks for the post, it brings back great memories.

Like your channel. Direct to the point. Some cooking videos do to much talking. Will make some for the family on Sunday. To each their own taste, but I would eliminate some of that butter and no grease, which is a little more healthier.

What can I use in place of bacon drippings my hubby doesn’t today eat pork
@DinnersDessertsandMore3 жыл бұрын
Jimmy Dean sells Turkey sausage that’s very flavorful. You could add just a bit of butter or margarine to it to stretch it a bit. I buy it at Walmart. Also you can try uncured Turkey bacon too. I forgot the name of it but it’s at Walmart by the bacon. Hope this helps.

Yummy! What’s the song in the background? I really like it!
@DinnersDessertsandMore3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! The song is called “Bird Brainz” by Otis McDonald. You can find the song in the KZbin royalty free music library.

Thats fried but southern. Southern fried comes off the cob with the cob scrapped dry of all them sweet juices. Still looked good though.

Can i do this with 2 cans of corn and 2 cans of mixed vegetables? Also can i do this without the bacon drippings?
@DinnersDessertsandMore3 жыл бұрын
Yes you can! I was craving my Beloved Grand Mother’s fried corn when I had no cobs in sight. I did find some grilled whole cornel and some regular. I used what I had and mixed in what I had in the kitchen of my BG’s. I never thought of using mixed vegetables and I love mixed vegetables too! Try using uncurled Turkey bacon if you don’t eat pork. It seems to render more oil than regular Turkey bacon. Hope this helps.

What type of sweetner??
@alejandraromero39044 жыл бұрын
Like sugar?
@DinnersDessertsandMore4 жыл бұрын
I used regular sugar. If you’re watching your carb intake, use Splenda granulated sugar in the baker’s section at your local grocers.

I’ll be making this tomorrow. About how much sweetener, flower and milk? I have 4 ears of corn. Thanks in advance
@DinnersDessertsandMore4 жыл бұрын
hsmathis In a small bowl I mixed about about a half cup of heavy cream with 1 Tablespoon of flour together, then poured it into the heated corn mixture. I used 2 cans of grilled corn and two cans of whole Kernel corn in this video. Adjust to what you will use. Hope you enjoy! Happy Thanksgiving.

I think I added way too much butter
@DinnersDessertsandMore Жыл бұрын
Cook, grill, boil, air fry, bake and season foods according to your taste. Nobody asked if I used to much butter. It seems you have an issue with butter I respect that, I ask you to respect the fact that I don’t. Don’t be afraid to try new things. Be open to different ways to prepare food, you just might like it. Learn to take what you can use not just on KZbin but in life and be mindful of the freedom of others. Thanks for watching.

@@DinnersDessertsandMore I didn't say YOU used too much butter I said 'I' used too much butter. Maybe if you read properly you wouldn't have a fucking problem. I never said I had an issue with butter in fact I copied the recipe as inferred in the comment. I think what you meant to say was "Nobody asked for your comment", which is already stupid statement on its own. Thanks for replying.
