I've watched all your videos. I honestly see you as a mentor :) You've shown me a lot of the practical real world experience I'd never have known about if it weren't for your videos. If I'm ever around in America I'd definitely not mind working a day or two with you or helping on a project. I love these videos :) Please dont give up.

I know that feeling, after moving my car got broken into and my tools where all taken out of my trunk. Including my dad / grandpa's dremel and tons of little pieces I had gathered over the years to make my perfect toolkit. It really hurt.

I'm just getting into the trade and want to let you know your videos are not only a great wealth of information, but an invaluable insight to what it's like to actually "live" the job. Your honesty is what makes your channel so much more interesting than all the other tech ones. Sorry about all of the negative life events hitting at once, but as you say, these are things that you are doing to make your life better in the long run. Wish you the best and can't wait to see what you've got in store!

So before anything else, THANK YOU! I can relate to a great deal of what you talked about here, particularly the "act" bit. Trust me, I get it, and I'm excited for you and your future. Not to say the current situation is good, but I have 0% doubt you're going to come out in a better, happier place than you were. Get that Patreon up. I'm in.

I am so glad you are back. If it were not for you I would have never started working on our home network and improving it. To be honest, I had runs with no service loops and ended up re-doing them because I realized when we put in a server cabinet that I did not have enough slack (something so minor that I would have never thought to leave when installing the new lines). I always think about the next technicain or person that has to come in after me because you changed the way I thought! Thank you Fiber Ninja!

Dang working until 3am. Great dedication. I’m in a similar position now. I am 26 years old and I finally made an entry into the IT field... Though I am through a temp agency and work has been great. My work is starting to slow down and I’m starting to get desperate for money because university is not cheap. I’m not the “Let’s get a college loan or any loans in general”. I don’t understand why most of these IT jobs needs a bachelor degree. I have my associates degree and wish me luck to find something more stable.

Man, what i can say, life is not so easy sometime, but i think life is not only filled with tough time, so overcome the difficulties. I saw your video, but tell the truth, I cannot give you money, no help for your work, but you know I respect you, respect your work, it's called skill and technology. So please take care yourself and make you happy and go forward, I think sometime people need a little luck, but not only luck, so I think and I trust you can fix them totally. Keep smile on your face, and someday you can out of the current situation. Wish you good luck in a brand new year. I would like to stay with you.

I can identify with everything here dude. Last year was hell for me also and I wonder how I am still here at times. Support from family and friends has been the key, along with my love of learning and working. This year I feel a lot more positive having made some difficult decisions last year, but it is paying off. Sometimes you have just gotta be selfish and think of number one... Take care :)

I really like your content and just love the parts where you reason about your design/cabling decisions. Although I'm from the far side of the Atlantic (Sweden), I can appreciate some of the unique challanges you have as an network technician i N. America, some of them that really isn't a problem here and some that we really struggle with, but allover it's quite similar. Similar in way that core fundamentals and values you discuss can be applied even in my work here in Sweden. And it's really refreshing to see a different view and optional problem solving techniques. What I'm trying to say is that I'm learning and thats worth gold! Keep up the good work and the best of luck!

@robertpurvis61065 жыл бұрын
i just discovered your videos and i can relate on most of what you are going through. i became a low voltage contractor in southern california 3 yrs ago after 15 yrs of various technician jobs. it's tough as nails out here to keep this business above water. i feel like the red headed step child on big structure cabling jobs because i'm hired by the client 99% of the time. other trades and the GC most of the time don't care about you. about all the super says is don't mess up my ceiling tiles. the sparkies are usually cool with me and help out because we work in tandem some what. not to mention i'm always hired on the 11th hr. always in a rush to install hundreds of cables at the last minute. don't make a whole lot because it just goes back into the business but i still take pride in what i do. it's what i know and it looks and works well. so far each year does a little more than the last. please keep up the vids. the few moments i have to watch i learn something new each time either from the first time you do it right or how you adapt to a mistake. best of luck and i hope 2018 has gone well. i'll have to catch up on vids to see for myself.

Mad respect to you, man. I''m happy to see that you're getting better (?) I love your channel, I love your content. You're very smart, interesting, etc. You're just very very intriguing and I love watching what you do. I'm about 6 hours north of you in Silicon Valley, and I'd like to, at some point, say thank you for teaching me so much about networking, installs, etc. It means SO much. If you ever are looking for an editor, (I know not now, I can listen to a video :P) I'd be willing to help, for free, just because you've done a lot for me and my personality. I think you deserve to show the shit that you've gone through in the face, and prove that you can beat all of that crap any day. I hope everything gets smoother, happier, etc etc. I've really run out of kind words to say, but I can't wait to watch everything you've said. And this is late but I only just saw the video. :P
