If you mirror the left side of the torso and then model the arm on the right and join them together it will look ok, but you won't be able to do the bridge edge loop at 14:11 properly. You would need to separate then, apply a mirror modifier on the arm(Same as torso), apply the modifier(drop down arrow next to the X in the mirror modifier), delete the right arm(L+X), join the arm with the torso and then you can bridge edge loops like in the video.
@zm123020 күн бұрын
to unjoin something press P in edit mode and then select what you want to separate, then click the 'by selection'

For some reason i can't bridge edge look like in 14:14. What can i do? Please someone helps me
@wewjoj Жыл бұрын
I had the same issue. It was because you can't bridge edge loops with two separate objects, so you have to go in object mode, select the arm and the body, and hit Ctrl J to join them into one object. Then in edit mode you can bridge edge loops.

At 17:10 or so. I found it easier to do the Pivot technique off of a vertex on the outside of the arm rather than the smooth. Just. Another way to do that portion if you're having a bit of trouble.

Awesome! Glad to see another one of these series from you! Regarding backup copies of meshes, I usually put them into a new collection that I then disable, as I hide and unhide stuff pretty often.

Quick question, why does he place the Cursor at the end point of the loop cut in edit mode ? is that necessary. video 7:50
@Mhytron Жыл бұрын
@@God-T So that the end point with the Cursor (left one) doesn't move when he scales the whole ring, that way the hand wont move around.

This tutorial series is getting better and better! I have a small question. Would you mind explaining a bit why the modification around (15:15~16:02) makes for a better topology? Looking forward for the next videos, cheers!

Thanks! It is a bit difficult to explain, but I try to have as few “interruptions” to the flow of polys as possible. In other words I try to reduce the number of vertices with more or less than four edges connected to it. This number can almost never be zero but we can try to optimize. Hope it helps 👍

I followed your Sinon tutorial a couple years back, I just love how the technique changed from topologizing the face from scratch to "make ball, follow the outline, done" 😂 I'll be following your tutorial to make myself comfortable with newest Blender, thanks for making this

THank you! im really enjoying this. i need to be careful on Duplication. I create multiple sometimes. I also used mirror today to fix some issues i had with one side of my model. it was a mess so i fixed one side and then used B > X to remove the other side ... mirror ... that saved me so much time . I am taking a lot of notes and learning the drop down menus. I could see programing the G and the Shift key into my mouse to move the screen and the vertices faster than with keys

2:38, when you bring out the references that are likely to be of another artists interpretation, in this case being a garage kit/ non official custom sculpture of which sculptor may also had no reference and take as much educated guess or embellish their own sense of detail, do you directly take off of it as it is, or do you further seek for official source of reference?(anime, manga, etc.). I notice that when it comes to references, details, the breadth of which to take can be enormous yet also vague at the same time, sometimes it even fight against your sense of appeal

for some reason I keep trying to mirror it and theres just a gap in between the mirror so I just gave up and now Im doing both of the sides seperately........................ with how many more videos there are in this tutorial I think Im going to burnout soon
@thebananasmaster3 ай бұрын
You might have already found the solution. But the mirror modifier only mirrors at the mirror object, so if the mesh isn’t properly aligned at the centre (if cut in half) there will be a gap. Simple:It’s not perfectly in the middle
