Damn, binge binge binge. So much familiarity yet different from stormlight. I am loving this. Brandon Sanderson has been my favorite author since I overheard towards the end of The Way of Kings, more than a decade ago, and continues to be. Viva la cosmere!

Listening to the Yolish Shattered Plains just really shows how much B$ has grown as an author. It’s good in this form, but I just constantly find myself needing to go back and read the rosharan version that just hits harder. Kaladin is definitely a better fit for bridge four than our scholarly lumberling

Every time he talks I'm expecting the "ha!" and also missing the "airsick lowlander" Still appreciate his presence here.

It's really striking how much Sanderson has grown as a writer since this time. When I read some of his other unpublished works, I could tell they weren’t as polished as his current books, but I still enjoyed them. However, reading the Bridge Four sequence in this book, which is so similar to The Way of Kings, makes for a direct comparison, and it's just not close in terms of quality. This version of the Bridge Four story feels rushed and underdeveloped. The moments that were epic in The Way of Kings seem kind of unearned and empty here. In The Way of Kings, those moments had a real weight to them, but in Dragonsteel Prime, they just feel hollow. I'm still enjoying the book, but this sequence really pales in comparison to The Way of Kings.

2:21:31 I really missed the image of Syl looking at the plateau. "Are wind spreen attracted to the wind or are wind attracted to the spreen" or something like that. Or is it honor spreen? 🤔

Well first off it’s spren not spreen 😂

I sure hope “mind-thought” was meant to be a placeholder term.
