Thanks for the quick tutorial. I just picked up a new Maxx for my sons birthday and decided to spring for the light kit and wide-maxx. I would feel better about it at a $50 price range to be honest but $100 is insane.

Thanks for the video! I just got a MAXX 2 weeks ago and still ain‘t sure if I should get the kit or not. We own a TRX 4 with the light kit, after a year of frequent use, even under water, the light still works. They also use very thin cables on the TRX4 light kit.

I won't lie, the light kit looks really nice on the truck. But, if you intend to bash etc (which is what the truck is made for) then those thin cables are an issue! Plus I found the cables always got in the way when trying to work on the truck, so most of the time I was unplugging and moving them out the way so I got get into the centre - got annoying after a while. A very nice kit and I do love the look when installed, but just feel for the money it could have been designed better.

Awesome video! My brake lights were defective out of the box, doesn't work at all when I hit the brakes. Everything else works fine. I hope this isn't a sign of their quality and longevity.

To be honest - I love the look of the lights, but I'm also a bit concerned with the thin cables now that Ive had it installed for a while. Wondering whether to actually keep them or not. Considering this is a bashing truck, and considering the cost of the light kit, those cables should have had some stronger shielding......

I'm going to try and hook up front rear lights to the ESC without buying the light kit Not sure how the reverse works on it but I will try and figure it out cuz I love that it has brakes and reverse lights

I'm thinking if you pulled the strands out of a piece of paracord you could use the outer cord as a sheath for those skinny wires maybe with a small heat shrink tubing at each end.

Good idea - those super thin cables need some protection, especially with the cost of the kit!

Hey i take it this will only work with the stock esc cause ive changed out the stock one and my new esc doesnt have that extra port where its connected to.

Yes this setup is for the stock ESC

Traxxas making that 💰 once again on what should have been standard equipment. They did offer this light kit for 50 bucks around the holidays if you bought a Xmaxx or Maxx truck. Should at least do this year round.

My brother, thinking the lights were a regular plumber with a wire stuck, ripped the wires out of the brand new bumper and they was so mad 😡

I just wonna know how to make it work with a hobbywing esc. Freaking traxxas. 😭

My recommendation to anyone wanting to buy this light kit is don't buy it. With the money you save from this you can pay for a new better quality ESC, because the stock ESC has a tendency to die, and this LED light kit only works with the stock ESC.

After running the truck for a while I don't disagree with you. Although my ESC has been fine, no issues there, I felt the light kit was just too fragile - super tiny wires etc - certainly doesn't live up to the rugged stock truck built for bashing!

@@iftibashir That's very true, the wire for the stop light broke on mine and I had to solder it back.
