I just finished installing a new CPS in my 2005 Jeep Liberty CRD. No way I could have done this without this video. I especially appreciate what you showed about the connector. I really struggled with finding the right way to get it to come apart, since I could barely get my fingers around it. The top shield bolt is a tough reach. Closed my eyes and finally found the hole by feel. I think I did some praying too. I tried it before I put the shield back on and it started right up. I just hope I bought a part that will last; I had to get it off Amazon. There was a cheap one and an expensive one. I chose the expensive one. Probably got the same thing; how do you know? My crd was shutting off completely after 10 minutes of driving. Tomorrow I take it for a long test drive and I'm scared shitless I haven't solved the problem. I'll let you know.

I have now given it a 45 minute test and it did not shut off. I think the problem is solved.

Your video and steps worked perfectly. After fighting through a bit of corrosion and that weirdly small bolt holding the bracket to the engine, I’m done and my CRD runs better and starts everytime

Thanks for the video this is super helpful, I just order new crank and cam sensors. Out of curiosity did you remove the connector from the top?

Awesome I'm glad it was helpful! And do you mean if I removed the opposite of the connector? I removed the bolt that fastened the bracket in place then disconnected the sensor with one hand like I explained on the video. But the other side of the harness stayed in place I tried to mess with it as little as possible.

Why do you only have 2 wires in the connector and not 3?

Based on the fact that it works properly I could assume it was an upgrade.

Mine will run and some times just turn off with no check engine light, just dies. At low speeds

@@RAM1990OS Before replacing, did your CRD start up, run for a bit, and then stall, and then require an hour or so rest before it started again? if so, that's why I may need to follow your excellent video.

@@camsylvester4688 yes that what mine did exactly and if that crankshaft position sensor code keeps showing after you erase them then pops again then it definitely is it......fixed mine!
