I have the same condition on a 2003 Limited, along with other issues in various places, too numerous to itemize…good thing I’m retired as it keeps me occupied.😂

Does the window open now that you repositioned the cable? The parts are obsolete at Ford.

Still can’t seem to wrap my head around how you managed to get the trim pieces out to cut them.. how’d you do it?

Its been a while since so can’t remember exactly how I cut the trim. I want to say I used a wood chisel and hammer to score the hard plastic material followed by a pair of nipper pliers or dykes. Not very pretty but barely noticeable once reassembled. Good luck!

You don’t have to cut them unlock the door from inside open it from outside then use a Phillips for the bottom two screws and then pull the plastic and the glued plastic wrap behind it to expose the mechanism

After that pull that string to open the glass and then pull the rest of the plastics off without having the cut any of them
