500 users domain controller pe hain aur 3 locations hai jahan pe 100.. 100 users baithte hain. exchange 2010 installed hai aur sare user alag alag location pe mail access karte hain over the internet. they are not in domain. ab main chahta hn ki har location pe ek child domain banaun aur jo users jahan k hain wahan pe unhe migrate kar dn with same credentials and policies. Kya ADMT se hojayega ? Please suggest best method , we also do not want to change mail ids of users

Great video, btw I followed the instruction, but for some reason when I promoted the child domain it disjoint from the domain. And I wasn't able to login with my domain administrator.

really !!!!!!!!!::: think twice before you write something on the web. 1) create parent domain with DNS. 2)create forward and reverse lookup pointer for the upcoming child domain in the parent domain. 3)Put Parent domain IP in the systems Primary DNS which needed to be promoted to be child domain. 4)Put its own IP or loopback Ip in secondary DNS field in the system which needed to promote to Child Domain. 5)Try NSLOOKUP from the system which needed to promote to Child. 6) check firewall if there is drop. 7)Now during the promotion first-time user credentials will be for the parent domain for seeking parent domain. 8 )The second time we put a password for disaster recovery. 9) Finally during DNS delegation please provide the password of the local system ::: NOT THE DOMAIN::. 10) then Netbios name will genrate and the the finalization and installtion .... that it simple

you don't need to join the domain before adding a child that's just a waist of time step and the bigger question is where dose DNS configuration come in to play it looks like you skipped the most important since adds won't replicate until dns is working
