So... after going through the video's entirety, this was actually a very good showcase of the curve tool, how to control the twist of the curve, and pointing out how to lock it in place. Learning how to control the fluidity and elasticity was the most important segment, and it even helped me get over some MAJOR humps with my actual training, and tutor's assignment. One thing I'd suggest, there are moments instructions happen so quickly that, I found myself uncertain on what to do, or what was going on, a bit. But other than that, this was way more informative and instructional than my first watch. ⭐x 5

curve mutli tube has this functionality, but if you want to "drop" the geometry and start a new curve, simply click on your object (away from the curve), or use stroke > curve functions > delete

Hi dear Michael. I have a question , when I press "To Mesh" button in brush palette ,I just have a box at result and IMM won't convert to tool ! thank you in advance .
@MichaelPavlovich3 жыл бұрын
The only thing I can think of is you don't have an IMM or IMM curve brush selected when you're hitting the "To Mesh" button. If you have say, the standard brush selected and hit "To Mesh", yes, it'll just make a geo box, because it doesn't have an associated IMM object to turn into a mesh
@modaxlive92113 жыл бұрын
@@MichaelPavlovich thank you for replying . I select the IMM brush and also I choose different tool in from its menu using M key . but the result is same . have you any tutorial video on this issue ? if yes may I ask you to put the link here . thank you

A little something here.How can i put imm on just a part of curve(framing whole cloth but want to put tubes only on collar for example).I did it somehow by mistake but cant figure out how to repeat it.Clicking only on red curve with start and end puts imm on every curve there is.

+Michael Pavlovich Seems like the "wrap curve around object" command is gone in 4r8 . Is it? If not, what's the new command for that?
@MichaelPavlovich6 жыл бұрын
if I understand correctly, the stroke menu - curve functions - frame mesh options are still there (Border, Polygroups, and Creased edges); if you hold down shift and, say, want to auto-snap your curve to any of those options, they have to be turned on in this menu (they should all be on by default). You can also use curves helper for more precise placement: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bqiynK2vbLt7d8U

Hi. Thanks for the response. I got it now. it's the curve strap snap brush. that's what i'm talking about. I forgot that it's a brush not a command lol.

once you have pressed M to add a mesh to the curve, how can you go back to the default tube mesh?
@MichaelPavlovich4 жыл бұрын
as long as you have a curve on your subtool, you can switch to any curve brush and update the curve by tapping on it (or, if you want to keep your result and draw a new curve, tap on the object away from your curve, select the curve tube brush, and draw out a tube curve with that brush)

When I try to rotate curve, the brush size makes the curve huge automatically, any tips?
@MichaelPavlovich4 жыл бұрын
0:51 shows the difference between brush size (red circle) and manipulator size (blue circle); essentially, move away from the curve until your circle turns red, turn your brush size down, then when you go to manipulate your curve, it'll resize it to your brush size. to change the manipulation circumference, hover over the curve (your cursor will turn blue), and if you hit "s" and change the size, it will change the manipulator size, not your brush size.

Yes! stroke > curve > turn on the "as line" button

@@MichaelPavlovich Tnx for answer. Yeah I found That option but it's not very flexible. I was looking for an option to make straight curve then Continue free curve then switch to straight curve so that Curve didn't interrupt. @MichaelPavlovich4 жыл бұрын
@@mordecai1484 you can turn as line on or off as needed. also consider using the elastic option to pull out to straight lines on the lathe brush. For the most control, you can simply create / slice geometry and use the frame polygroups option with the lathe brush and have it follow the framed curve
