Hey gang! I’m the Nick from The Working Grain and I can’t begin to explain how much it means to me to have you all speak so highly of my work! While I had so much fun making the salt cellar and emergency Burt’s Bees holder, the wooden Sausage Man statue is on the short list of builds I am most proud of. It’s an incredible and inspiring feeling to know that my work is appreciated by you all ❤

Never thought I'd see/hear my favorite trio talk about Electric Light Orchestra, but I am here for it! That is one of my dad's favorite bands (he was really into glam rock when he was in college, in the 70s) and they are a music staple of my life story. Glad to hear them get some appreciation from someone outside of my own family, lol.

Listening the Amanda Bergman’s newest album right now and I love it so much! It’s like Laura Marling meets Rilo Kiley. Much more uplifting to listen to on my walk than true crime podcasts. Thanks Shane! Also Steven, don’t be embarrassed by Sabrina! That album slaps. You’re conditioned to be embarrassed because our society trivializes art made by women for women but really it’s just mad bops and anyone should be able to enjoy them. Embrace your inner teen girl and love desperately :)

Ever since I was a kid I’ve been obsessed with one prop; Mary Poppins’ umbrella. I will never understand why Disney hasn’t made replicas to sell.

What do you play it on?
@LindaC61614 күн бұрын
In the 90s I had a VHS cassette I think I still have it somewhere called "video catnip". It was $7. Someone scattered seed and peanuts on their porch and then filmed the chipmunks, squirrels, and birds. Some segments had music over them and others were just the natural sounds. They warned people that the animal might try to get into the back of the TV set where the sounds were coming from. My cat used to love the squirrels more than the birds. I think there are equivalents here on KZbin
@BeesRecipes14 күн бұрын
Haha, I recently played bird footage for my new cat I had just taken in from being a stray. We put it up on the TV and he watched politely at first but after 5 min he leapt at the screen like a toaster ejecting your bread w too much enthusiasm. He almost tipped the TV over so I shut it off 😅 Since then everytime I use the TV to watch something else he sits directly in front of it (stares it down an inch away) looking for where the birds went lmao

41:33 as someone from a VFX background it's sad to hear people repeat the (in most cases) lie that studios love telling these days -- "they build the whole thing practically" -- I'm sure they build SOME small parts of it, but realistically 85% of any impressive set you're seeing in a movie like Wicked is being done in post
