wow super bien. muy bien trabajo de pies en el solo. las bueltas super limpias el estilo no se diga es LA STILE. 100%100. esto es salsa de salon nacio en los angeles y es tan grande que haora es reconosida mundialmente en las competencias . reconosidas como la de espn y en el jurado hay jueses de todo el mundo. ya lo que se baila en las fiestas es salsa callejera o de barrio. esto , ya es profecional ... amor y pas!!

A 2 minute display of technique makes someone a world salsa champion! A world champion should represent the spirit of salsa... Salsa is spontaneous, it's about feeling the music and having fun. To me, routines like this one, should be made and performed in a manner which would cheer up and inspire the viewer to dance himself. A world champion should do this the best. Here there is hardly any relation to the music and the viewer, just a list of moves, performed to impress the judges.

salsa4eva...this is from 2006 and I do agree with you...if you compare their 2005 and 2006 they have a lot of the same moves and elements...I thought the same thing when I first saw it...that said they are still amazing dancers and true to the LA Style On1

Some International dance competitions are becoming more like Sport Events, for example ESPN has a yearly competition called DanceSport (you see what I mean), and this video shows that style of "dancing", 90% Gimnastics, 10% dance, and this dance is mostly choreographed. Good for the winners, they look very talented and I'm sure they would prefer to dance more, but it's not their fault.

Salsa originated from Cuba but has since proliferated around the world with many different styles evolving from many regions globally. The more common styles today being New York (Mambo) style, Los Angeles style (what you see in the above video), Colombian style and the original Cuban style. Other styles also include Puerto Rican and Miami. What style appeals to you is purely a subjective one. Comparing them would be like comparing the proverbial apples and oranges. Pick a style and enjoy! :)

My point is only about the so called "Salsa". And I always respect originality. For me, changing the real thing completely and still call it the same thing is very very wrong. Ballroom dance in particular has completely changed the idea of many original dances. Especially Latin dances.

I agree with MrPurefun saying that they were not really doing salsa moves. But at the same time they weren't doing decent ballroom (latin) dancing either. They are not even close to other top ballroom dancers. So if it can't be a good salsa, then it can't be a good ballroom either (off time). They do OK in acrobatical turns but that's about it.

Lo digo por que bailo SALSA...salsa de la buena..he representado a mi pais en mas de 10 paises...incluyendo Japon, China y korea tres veces en Europa..tengo suficiente base y conocimiento ...mi sobrino solo tiene 8 anios y al ver el video me dijo que nunca bailaron salsa. Ah no ...no bailo asi.....bailo mucho mejor...Tengo una pareja con la cual he bailado durante 11 anios.

And when you start dancing you must learn a pattern, then you increase your movements based on that, otherwise you will be moving without any sense, all dance styles have a count, ALL!! Tango, ballet, son, cha cha, etc etc.

Actually for those who claim this kind of dancing does not respect a count you're pretty wrong and don't know anything about salsa styles, as casino, on1, on2 and caleño also have a count, even when spinning you respect that count (8 beats) get your facts right and then speak, otherwise you're making a fool of yourselves.

Sera cualquier cosa menos bailar salsa, lastima que ahora en los campeonatos de salsa mas se fijan en las acrobacias que el ritmo y los pasos de salsa, ene ste video hay muchas vueltas y vueltas pero pasos de salsa y sabor no hay. No confundan la acrobacia con bailar salsa, la salsa no es un circo.

Digo lo mismo, salsa no es dar vuelta como loco y peor ver al hombre al dar las vueltas a la mujer, parece que tuviera los pies clavados al piso. Y para colmo algunos jueces gringos, que saben ellos del ritmo, de la pasion y de tener la salsa en las venas... Sabes que la salsa en sus origenes,osea la "salsa salsa" no tiene piruetas,pero aceptemos eso, lo que no considero es que se irrespete la inocencia de los que ven estos videos, yo creo que analice muy detenidamente este video y tal como explique en el anterior cometario realmete solo "bailan"como 13 segundos de salsa,el resto es una demostracion buena de movimientos varios, no creo que haya irrespetado a alguien tanto como estos ganadores. Tu y yo sabemos que la salsa tiene unos pasos basicos.

Chico tan mal estan que si analizas el video la musica de salsa empieza a 0:29 y dura hasta el 1:31...del resto son puro efecto de sonido para hacer las vueltas...creo que si es torneo de salsa deben gastar el tiempo (2:00) en bailar salsa solo hay musica de salsa 1:02.Empezan a "bailar salsa" en 0:47 y terminan en 1:00, osea solo 13 segundos de baile...es una ofensa a los bailarines y bailadores de salsa...ellos no nos representan.

You use de count at the beginning but once you have the experience you can dance not just with the count but with all the instruments, i am not saying that cuban dance is bad, it's great, but man if you don't know anything about the other styles, how can you dare snaying bad stuff of them?

Good dancer. Very very good Latin ballroom dancer. But that is absolutely not Salsa. That is acrobatic turns and stunts done with mambo music without any Salsa step at all. They totally messed up the idea of Salsa. Salsa was originally made in Cuba by the name Casino. That's the original name. And Cuban Style is the only real Salsa. The other styles are just mostly acrobatic movements. If you wanna see how is THE REAL SALSA, see all the video of Yanek Revilla. Timba y tremendo despelote.

Bueno no conozco al tal Eddie Torres...y la verdad no admiro a ningun bailador en particular...lo que te puedo decir es que a los mejores bailadores que he visto de salsa han sido cubanos... y de hecho el estilo cubano es el que mas me gusta y en el que yo bailo. Esto que ponen en los campeonatos con coreografias donde parece que entre mas giros de la mujer es mejor el baile o dond eel hombre hace pasos como si fuera de ballet no me agradan...no hay espontaneidad ni creatividad...es monotono
