In a traffic accident on the A2 freeway this forenoon (June 7), a 60-year-old truck driver suffered life-threatening injuries. The accident involved two semitrailer trucks and a tractor-trailer combination. Another driver was seriously injured.
The accident occurred at around 11:45 a.m. in the westbound direction, shortly before the Kamen intersection (A2 / A1). According to the first witnesses, all three trucks were driving in the right lane one behind the other. A 60-year-old man had to brake his vehicle due to traffic. A 64-year-old driver of an semitrailer truck behind him noticed this and also braked. This was overlooked by a 60-year-old man driving behind him for reasons as yet unexplained and drove his truck with tandem trailer onto the truck of the 64-year-old man. The latter was finally pushed onto the truck in front. The driver of the white tractor-trailer was trapped in his cab in the accident and had to be freed by the fire department. A rescue helicopter airlifted him to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. The 64-year-old (blue MAN) was taken to hospital by ambulance with serious injuries. The A2 freeway initially had to be completely closed at the accident site. Around 1:45 p.m. the left lane and around 4:10 p.m. the middle lane could be opened. All closures could only be lifted from around 4:45 p.m. onwards.

Nice work guys ! Um ? Do your drivers not do a tug test when the hook on to a trailer . It makes sure the fifth wheel is locked . Just wondering didn't see the boy do it.

@@paulwilliams8555 trucks have a speed limit of 80 km/h in Germany. The problem is they follow too close and don't pay attention to what's happening ahead of them

Gibt es einen Mindestabstand, den ein LKW stehend (nach verkehrsbedingtem Abbremsen) auf der Autobahn hinter einem anderen Fahrzeug einhalten muss? Wenn nein, wäre das eine Überlegung wert? Oder das Einschalten der Warnblinker, wenn man am Stauende steht? Oder eine obligatorische, nicht ausschaltbare Notbremse?

Das Warnblinken machen viele, ist aber kein Gesetz. Mindestabstand beim Stehen gibt es auch nicht (könnte sich auch keiner dran halten, da sich PKWs dazwischen quetschen würden. Genau wie bei einer nicht ausschaltbaren Notbremsautomatik. Würde zu oft Fehlalarm schlagen.

@@tobiasmetzger4522 yes indeed, if you try to keep a gap some one will disregard it and push in .Think the main problem is concentration,driving nose to tail for long periods .

@@tomatoes3 and always at the same speed, not being able to overtake because it's illegal and therefore not seeing anything different. No need to shift since its automatic, no need to brake because its got acc!

@@tobiasmetzger4522, das sehe ich ein, ich fahre diese Woche einen PKW mit Abstandsautomatik und stelle fest, dass andere Autofahrer mit Begeisterung vor meiner Nase einscheren und mich damit immer wieder abbremsen. Aber wenn sich dadurch viele Menschenleben retten lassen, wird entweder nur autonomes Fahren oder eben eine dieser unperfekten Vorstufen dazu ein Schritt vorwärts sein.

Always big accident in Germany due to speed of trucks probably with their braking assistance switched off .also do the drivers sit cpc courses like here in the UK. And if so why are so many hgv fatal accidents

Und wieder das selbe Problem, 1 Lkw muss Bremsen und steht. 2 Lkw bremst auch und steht. 3 Lkw knallt ungebremst drauf! 😵. Der unschuldige Fahrer des 2 LKW wird schwerst Verletzt l. SCHRECKLICH! Fast möchte man Sagen jeder 3 Lenker ein Ideot. 🤮Zum Glück wenigstens eine Spitzen Abschleppfirma
