Awesome work! Did the rear crossmembers on a 2011 1500 ext cab last year and now the same truck is back for the driver side frame rail repair identical to this. Gotta love rust!

How much would this cost to have a shop do this vs how much the truck is worth?

Per kit $100-200 for the kit, $500-1000 for the labor. Most trucks need more than 1 kit, often trucks we have in the bill is $2000-$2500, but that will vary mainly on the labor of who you have doing it. Options as you mention would be parting out/scrapping truck or as a lot of people like to bring up swapping the frame out. Problems with swapping frames though is that is typically going to cost more in labor, finding a good frame is difficult, and that process touches everything which has a risk of things not wanting to come apart as well as not getting put back together correctly.

I just watched a guy zapping rust with a laser. The metal looked like it had been sand blasted. I wonder if a laser could get the rust of your frame without removing so much. Here is an example kzbin.info/www/bejne/gIPdmGafbNRgf6M
