07-19 Toyota Yaris 1.5L Water Pump Replacement.

Today we have a 2017 Toyota Yaris with the 1.5L 1NZ-FE engine that is making some noise from under the hood. We removed the belt and determined that the noise was coming from the water pump. We then proceed to walk you through the process of replacement. This process should be the same on 2007 Toyota Yaris, 2009 Toyota Yaris, 2010 Toyota Yaris, 2011 Toyota Yaris, 2012 Toyota Yaris, 2013 Toyota Yaris, 2014 Toyota Yaris, 2015 Toyota Yaris, 2016 Toyota Yaris, 2017 Toyota Yaris, 2018Toyota Yaris, and 2019 Toyota Yaris equipped with the 1.5L 1NZ-FE engine. If memory serves, 07-16 have a little more room and don't require loosening the engine mount.

This is a very well shot video, thank you for posting. I've been looking at getting a Yaris and apparently the water pump is one (of very few) common issues they have. Glad to see it's not too difficult to replace.

I have a Toyota Yaris 21. Date of purchase 10/25/2021 I discovered a coolant leak on 12/19/2023. Number of kilometers driven is only 27743 km . It was repaired free of charge under the manufacturer's warranty

i have a 1.3 uk toyota yaris and after having the water pump replaced, am getting a squealing noise at about 1500rpm and in a high gear , about 40mph. goes away after 10 mins or so. any ideas ? thanks

Did you use silicon on water pump gasket?

ok got the water pump out. It was leaking around the seal , could i just reinstall with rtv or a water pump paste to spread on the gasket before bolting it all back in?? thanks!

my water pump would leak as soon as i poured coolant in from the radiator cap.

I would replace the gasket. Rtv usually causes more problems than it solves when it’s not supposed to be there.

@@automotiveinsight thanks i bought a lifetime warrant duralast water pump 80 bucks. The new gasket is like a paper the old gasket was a thin steel with black paint coating
