There is a very well known SpongeBob incident, known as 07/25/2005. During an airing of a SpongeBob episode, it supposedly glitched live on air and showed some disturbing and odd imagery. Videos showing this supposed incident have circulated all around the Internet for the past 2 years and today, we're gonna answer the age old question: is it real or just a hoax? Let's find out.

Realistic creepypastas like this always used to get people trying to force haunted stuff in them. This creepypasta sounds like a real rumor or urban legend My personal favorite was Killswitch, started off as a believable but far-fetched story about a supposed eastern European computer game about mining accidents and thus was supposedly banned and destroyed by the government, but then had hauntings and "IT MADE ME CRY I CAN'T DO IT I'M GOING INSANE AFTER PLAYING IT" stuff shoved into it later by other parties

I had a CRT until the early 2010's. Analogue glitches in TV shows were very common. There was static, travelling distortion but nothing would repeat. Repeating, coloured parallel lines, pink, green distortion was something you saw on CDs or other corrupted DIGITAL media. Also, I would watch cartoons on Cartoon Network late at night because that was when the "good" cartoons were aired like Courage, Dexter, KND etc.

I remember watching Regular Show when I was like 10 (so somewhere around 2009-2011). There was a part where Benson was yelling at Mordecai and Rigby and the audio broke down for a minute. All these garbled sound effects started playing simultaneously and a little bit of speech could be heard through it. It was nearly impossible to decipher. But as a kid, I thought it was saying something about death. Though, honestly, I was very young and I think I was probably just letting my imagination get the better of me. But it was much louder than the rest of the show and startled me when it first played. I made a video showing it. But back then, the only way I knew how to record videos was by recording them on my family's laptop's webcam. I played the clip of the show with the laptop pointed at the TV screen, then I put the laptop by the TV speaker and replayed the clip so the audio could be heard better. All with completely unnecessary 10 year old commentary. A notable amount of people saw it (I think a few hundred) and I got a bunch of comments saying that I faked it and I eventually deleted the video. I REALLY wish there was a way to see it again. Moral of this story, don't delete your cringey youtube videos. Just set them to Private if you don't want anyone seeing them.

It should also be noted that SpongeBob broadcasting errors HAVE happened. My favorite was when Wet Painters / Krusty Krab Training Video aired between 2002 - 2006, the closing logo for Klasky Csupo was used by accident, instead of United Plankton Pictures. This was due to how production logos were organized during the time of airing.

HHHH omg yeah this broadcast error scared the crap out of me as a kid!!!! Came to the comments looking if anyone mentioned it. I was already scared of that logo, and always ran out of the room to avoid it, but seeing it after SpongeBob unexpectedly freaked me out so bad I cried and hid under a blanket. I was alone too! Another thing to note, “Gary Takes a Bath” is paired with “Shanghaied,” not “Your Shoe’s Untied.” The two episode halves *cannot* be aired together. If they were seen airing one after the other, OP would have had to have come back to the show after 30 minutes in order to make the hypothetical jump over “Squid’s Day Off” and the aforementioned Shanghaied to reach Gary Takes a Bath.

Something that scared the shit out of me as a kid was an actual thing that happened. It was like maybe 2010 or 2011, I had gone to my grandmas house because we lost power at my house due to a really bad storm. Her house was 5 minutes away, it was still really stormy outside. I was watching dragon tales and in the middle was a broadcast announcement and the beeping that had the little emergency alert at the bottom of the screen, the voices on the TV were distorted while this happened probably because of a glitch or an error, it sounded like slow motion distorted old man voices, pretty terrifying. A thing that spooked me as a child was when cartoon network accidentally ran the first half of an episode twice. The show was 'my gym partner is a monkey'. It spooked me a bit when in the middle of the episode it cut to the opening credits then the episode replayed untill the same point where it had stopped. i don't recall anything too wierd except for the fact that it just replayed itself and it was most likely a mistake by the people in controll of the broadcast.

I remember being a kid and staying up late to watch Naruto Shippuden. Sometimes I’d fall asleep with the TV on trying to stay up until 1am to see it. I remember waking up to a horrific stop motion claymation (don’t remember anything about it other than it scared the fuck out of me) and I couldn’t find the remote and was too scared to get out of bed to change the tv so i just went under the blanket and peeked every few minutes hoping it was over. Eventually one of the times I peeked the TV was black and this scared me even more because I hadn’t turned it off. I jumped up to turn on a light and nothing happened when I flipped the light switch. I promptly lost my mind, and bolted, screaming out of the room. It was pitch black and I was in a full blown panic. I ran to where I knew the hallway light was and it didn’t turn on anything either so i just started banging on the walls trying to wake people up. Turns out I accidentally changed the channel to Robot Chicken and in between peeks at the tv from under the blanket the power went out. I’ve had a healthy phobia of things like this, tv static, glitches etc ever since. I even used to get a little freaked out when I went out of bounds in a halo game

I love the creepypasta because it feels too real. I remember ever experienced something like that but instead of spongebob it's a late night news suddenly froze for a long time at a moment where one of the news reporter staring on the screen with serious eye. No smile, no emotion. That's it. But as a child back then, this traumatized me that if I see a TV broadcast that suddenly goes silence I would immediately hide in fear. Edit: oh yeah I want to tell you guys about exclussive indonesian cut version of spongebob of bummer vavation where the episode just end when Spongebob is inside Patrick's house, scares him, approaches him, and then it cuts to black, implying that SpongeBob kills him. So dark. And they've never officially released the full indonesian dub episode, just the creepy cut one that has been around for decades and probably now because they always repeat showing SpongeBob over and over. This reminds me of the time I was watching Cartoon Network and there was a glitch when they were showing Amazing World Of Gumball. I remember an error screen popping up and there either being a blank black screen for a few seconds occasionally interrupting the show, or some scenes being shown out of order before the theme song played again and the episode started back over from the beginning and played normally. I remember a spongebob “creepy pasta” of the ugly barnacle. It was just a clip of Patrick talking about the ugly barnacle and right after saying “everyone died, the end” his eyes went black and black tentacles came out from his back. It terrified me as a kid. Looking back at it, only in memory, it’s not as scary as I originally though it was; I tried looking for the video recently but it looks like it’s been erased off of the face of the planet. The TV Hijacking idea in the OG creepypasta is actually pretty plausible. Lots of freaky stuff happens during TV Hijackings. For example, The Max Headroom Incident, or the Handy Mandy Incident, which wasn't exactly scary, but was definitely disgusting.

I remember years ago I was watching Ed Edd N Eddy and a really weird glitch happened.The show literally froze for a solid 10 to 15 seconds while Eddy was in mid speech, before the screen turned to a greenish static but Eddy was still barely visable,for another few seconds and then the episode came back but it was like put back a few minutes earlier into the episode ...strangest shit as a kid

I am certain this was a real glitch, right after this incident curiosity got the better of me, I was sitting with my brother and we were just as scared, (like so scared we slept in my moms room) any way right after Nickelodeon put a screen something on the tv that said [We are sorry but we are experiencing technological problems and difficulties please stand by] for an hour, horrified. I remember when it first when Patrick said "spongebob?" It really made me kind of feel this funny feeling of being watched or something behind us... anyway we spent the rest of the night watching the news to see if anyone was broadcasting what happend... to my surprise none, this unsettling story has put a scar in my life. I am still afraid to switch on Nickelodeon, that summer night on july 25th of 2005... is one of the most undderrated and complex glitches and hijackings in television history...

My theories: -- Either the grapics updated and *some* tv's could not handle the new grapics so they would fix it tmmr. -- A Server Malfunction happened. Or my best one is... -- Sometimes when I watch on amazon prime it lags out so audio & video mechanics were out of sync. So thats wha could of happened or it could of been a combantion. --Also I've seen similar results when bad weather is present.
