I gotta admit when I downloaded VS on Halloween just for the CV dlc, I was fully prepared to just jump straight into it but then decided to do one Mad Forest run with Antonio just to get myself familiar with the game and its original elements. A week later I still haven’t even opened the CV dlc because I’ve been hooked like crazy unlocking characters, relics, weapons, and discovering more and more secrets. My first time discovering Holy Forbidden and the White Hand are some gaming events I won’t be forgetting for a while.

One part of the ending sequence that really got to me was when I noticed that the Survivors that showed up to help were pulled from my save file. Poe, for example, was in his retirement rocking chair, and Lama was zooming around because she was one of the characters I'd been juicing with Golden Eggs.

I genuinely laughed out loud when the Black Disc opened up. Like, full belly laughs, it caught me so off guard. And then you ended it with the Bloodlines stage clear jingle. And then hit us with at least 20 MORE characters after the credits plus the secret ones. This entire DLC is the most extreme love letter to CV in all the best ways.

This is one of the best endings in Castlevania media, an excellent homage to the franchise from the beginning to the end. Also, the fact that Richter can be unlocked with "donthaveuno" shows how much love it has for the fandom too.

I'm not the biggest Castlevania guy, but I played a good bunch of the games (Bloodlines, SoTN, Aria of Sorrow, the DS entries) so I have some good attachment with the series. And yeah, I teared up as well here. This is easily the best game crossover I think I have ever seen, so much love put into every single detail.

I had the stupidest grin and mist in my eyes as soon as I heard the voice. This really took me back. Having all the Belmonts and friends show up was heartwarming. Having the Vampire Survivors show up and turning it into the most violent dance party ever just multiplied that feeling. This honestly is a love letter to the series and the fans. I'm so glad I didn't have this spoiled. This shit was the coolest thing ever as a Castlevania fan. Crazy how much emotions this simple looking game got out of me. Poncle. If you read this, if Erdtree can get a nomination, you absolutely deserve to be in the same discussion because this imo was dog walking that DLC easy. Whether you look at it as Vampire Survivors 2 or you making a roguelite Castlevania spinoff, you fucking under sold and over delivered for $4.

It took me like 26 minutes with Richter to try and gather all the whips that i had unlocked and even used Alucard's shield to give me more weapon slots.. It was difficult also trying to specifically gather the passive items I needed and then rushing back to get both of the Arma Dio.. only to find out that in the end, Death the fun reaper he usually is decided to take all my gear once again.. Unfortunately there wasn't a way to get hit by a warg to fly across the screen to skip him this time, so ya hate to see it.. 😔
