In this lesson, the student will get practice with evaluating a function in algebra.
First, we discuss function notation, which is how to write the function down and indicate the name of the function and the independent variable that is used as the input to the function. Next, we work several examples of functions and calculate the output values. Finally, the definition of a function is discussed so the student will learn how to work with a function in any branch of math, science, or engineering.

Is it possible to get a zero answer in evaluation of function?

Yes for sure. Take the function f(x)=6-x If you plug in x=6 then answer you get as the output of the function is 0.

F(-2) = x+5 , in this problem we are going to need our x value so it could be any number like x is = 6. so using that F(-2)= x + 5 is going to be 11 because 5 + 6 is 11, so F(-2)= 11
