Please enjoy Dire Straits performing "Sultans of Swing" while I conduct a short evening flight around the neighborhood with the OX-35. I had a bit of a set-back with the OX-7. I switched over to the AOS 7" frame designed by Chris Rosser. I am also planning to take the OX-7 digital with the 03 Air Unit in August. After the frame swap I was excited for the maiden but upon lift-off, the OX-7 spun wildly out of control at full throttle! I had the presence of mind to disarm quickly but the craft crashed into gravel from about 100 ft in altitude. The lens on the analog FPV camera (Run Cam Phoenix 2) was destroyed and the lens on the action camera (Hawkeye Firefly 6s) was badly chipped. It took a while to diagnose the problem, but it turns out that the ESC was configured for reverse motor direction (props out) while the FC (INAV) was configured for normal motor direction (props in). I don't know how the discrepancy happened from just a frame swap. The last time I swapped frames it did not happen. I also don't know how I missed it during configuration. So, word to the wise, I guess. I have ordered a replacement lens for the analog camera so I can at least be flying while I wait for the 03 Air Unit. The OX-35 is flying well in the meantime. Happy Flying Amigos! Cheers - Sonic Ox
