This video saved my life. 2007 Yukon Denali. After removing the dash didn't know which steps to take. Wasn't able to get to the second bolt behind the 6.2l engine, intake too high. Managed to get the heater core out without removing the heater box, only pulled it out enough, broke whatever tabs were still holding it. God bless the poster of this video. 8h job

thanks for posting this. I've done this on dodges but not later model Chevy trucks. It always helps to have someone point out what hardware needs to come off when removing a dash to get to the HVAC box.

Holy smokes! This looks like a monster of a job. I was thinking about trying to replace a heater core in a 2007 Yukon, but not now. Thanks for posting.

How did your heater core job turnout?
@Bige4u3 жыл бұрын
I have a work truck just like this one, but a 2009 model, and the heatercore just went sideways in it, an obvious leak, the smell of antifreeze inside the cabin is off the charts, and what certifiable nightmare this is compared the the GMT400 trucks, thanks GM! o_0

Not looking forward to this job on my truck been a while since I’ve done one but I do wanna say that you don’t have to remove the instrument panel, radio or glove boxes I wanna say ford Chevy or dodge are all roughly the same some may have more bolts up top but same basic locations. Just the two bolts on each side. The two on top of the dash and the one on the floor.

I have 2008 Silverado also and smells when I run the ac. U think it’s my heater core ? Anyway to check ? Thx. Enjoyed watching your you tube

Only replace the heater core if it is leaking. To get the bolts behind the air conditioning system, go through the wheel well.

DID YOU FIND IT?
@charlesbrugger10766 жыл бұрын
Joni the screws do come out they shouldn't be heat welded. They are torque screws use a 1/4 drive or a t, type torque bit drive set.

I put on a new heater core 3 weeks ago and now I have another leak. Could there be something else going on?
@charlesbrugger10765 жыл бұрын
Pressure check the system first to see where it's coming from. Where did you get the heater core from?

I know its like 3yrs too late but those spacers go to the mating position between column and carrier.

I was replacing a hose and t fitting that was leaking the one from the heater core. I replaced them and the leak stopped but now I have a leak in the firewall. I think I broke the heater core from too much yanking. I need to pay someone to replace the heater core 2007 tahoe 5.7 in Lakewood CA
@charlesbrugger10764 жыл бұрын
Check the quick disconnect part on the hose they are known for leaking. If it is you could replace the hose or disconnect the hose and cut it off carefully and use a hose clamp and it should stop the leak if it in fact is coming from there.

It's really not to bad you don't have to take the dash completely apart just drop steering wheel remove front seats and you have the room to do it.
@bjharvey26966 жыл бұрын
Not near enough detail for removing the dash. Fastener locations to vague as well as how to remove various panels without damageing them. Confirming complexity involved was good, but I'm not sure the video will be of any substantial help.
