I wanted to understand why sea routes are most preferred for smuggling (understand that airways have multiple checks), roadways could be bypassed(but maybe routes r longer).Looks like a security fallacy then, am I understanding the scenario correctly here? Porous borders have always been an annoyance and a breeding ground for influx from neighboring countries - I believe it's hard to keep tabs on it. Is there any hope at all?
