What is a trophy?

Awesome job mate, Great to see the passion and appreciation you have for the deer you've taken. Although some hunters have lost appreciation for the deer they hunt, or perhaps never had in the first place, i think the vast majority of hunters can truly appreciate the value a trophy holds for the person that took it. My "trophy wall" is one small lonely stag haha. But every single time i walk past it, i smile and remember every little detail of the journey that lead to it, and I imagine my future trophy wall, not only for the heads but for the adventures that will go with them 🏞🦌 Keep up the good videos 👍

Awesome room mate, it's always great to hear the story's behind a good hunt and the things that happen along the way..and I'm with you after a few beer around the fire ...the story's get better, the hills get hell steeper,,,The gullys get the thickest you've ever been in and the wind changes direction faster than Bob Brown in front of a on coming log truck. Good video mate. Is always great listening to people's stories! Here's a question for you, herd u talk about trail cams....in areas where u have cameras, have u shot more stags that are on the cams or more stags that that were not evident on the cams?

Hey Luke thanks for your comments. As far as the trail cameras I have shot a few stags that I have captured on camera first but the vast majority of deer I shoot are in country I do not run cameras in. I tend to hunt the country not the deer that live in it. I'm a strong believer in spending your time in country that is conducive to killing deer not hunting a big stag that you get on camera that lives in some shit hole that is almost impossible to kill him in. If you find some good country the cameras are good for checking out what's there but in some country the big boys move so much that more often than not they rarely show up on camera unless they are left there for months.

No O-light trophies on my wall ! Never have been never will be interested in an easy trophy. Im in it for the adventure, the story the thrill of the chase this is why I dont hunt private all that much now days as I find it boring. New, big and remote country is where its at for me I love the feeling of whats over the next gully or ridge that feeling of finding a stags home and believing your the only one thats ever sat on that rock ledge to glass. The deer is just the icing on the cake. Been hunting Sambar since I was 8 shot my first stag at 14, Im 39 now so its taken 25 years to collect all those memories on that wall. Thanks for watching

Zebra's Sambar hunting adventures. Yeh I’m more the learning from mistakes type. Hunted with dad from age 5-10 then he left the world. Late 30’s now pretty new to deer

@@danstevens2204 Well my best bit of advice is to spend time in the bush the more the better but remember its supposed to be fun so dont put too much pressure on yourself. hunt the country not the deer , what i mean by that is find country that if you find deer you have a high chance of killing them dont hunt deer that you find in country that is not conducive to seeing them. You can waste a lot of time in counrty that has a good population of deer but you cant get a look at them.

Zebra's Sambar hunting adventures. Yeh copy that. I tell people it’s just bush walking with a rifle unless I take a shot. Always good to be outdoors 👍
