What a great all-round hunting vid! All the weather she could throw at you guys to walking them up and schooling up a green, but very keen and grateful hunter with directions and "sambar 101". This is what it's all about! Love your work, Zeb!

Great stuff mate!! I mainly hunt NSW high country and far south coast for Samba. Have always had luck with stags late June and early November. Not sure if it is a rutting cycle can never work them out🤔 great channel. Ben

Hey Ben, let me know when you work them out as I'm still guessing as well 😁 that's the beauty of hunting Sambar.

great video as always Zeb. That was Mark, Rob and Ivan at the campsite, and we helped Sam chop the few last trees across the road on the way in after he chopped his way in through a whole pile of fallen trees. He's a top bloke, and glad he got a stag. I picked up his scope turret cover along the track so if he reads this....get in touch Sam and I'll send it to you!
@ZebrasSambarhuntingAdventures3 ай бұрын
Yeah Sam was a great bloke, having a go that's for sure. Sounds like you had a heap more wind damage coming in your way than us. Hopefully Sam gets in touch to get his scope turret back 👍

Don't get me wrong mate I'm an older hunter naturalist but we tread a fine line when we show off what we do whether it be steering more interest where we hunt or giving other party's reasons for giving us a bad name for instance your attracting more hunters to your areas and you don't touch wild dogs before you know there will be less deer and farmers won't give you the time of day
@ZebrasSambarhuntingAdventuresАй бұрын
Hey Scott, just so you have all the information. Nearly all the areas I hunt are Victorian Alpine national Park. The only animal your legally permitted to hunt/kill is deer. If I were near farm land and in State forest I have no issue with your thoughts on the Dingos. To me these were Dingos no wild dog, 2 completely different animals. I don't see Dingos as a risk to farms this deep into the vhc.

Great vid Zeb but with all those hinds and young animals it would seem to me that hunters are only targeting Stags and in my opinion that is not good some hinds and even a few yearlings need to be taken to keep things in the right balance personally that's all I would harvest because you can't eat antlers.
@ZebrasSambarhuntingAdventures2 ай бұрын
Yeah its always been that way in there, it's a nursery for female deer and their young. I hear you about the antlers but for those looking for a challenge, young meat deer don't offer any 🤷
