(cont.) After the stock turbo, I have a Crawford performance 3" catless downpipe flowing into a 3" Invidia N1 race cat-back. For intake, I have a cosworth cold air intake going into a perrin 3" turbo inlet tube. For fuel I have a DW fuel pump and DW 800cc injectors. At the time of this video my motor only had a built bottom end including: 100mm Mahle forged pistons, Eagle h-beam forged rods, and a Scat cross-drilled billet crank along with other supporting mods such as a cosworth blueprintedd oil pump, air pump and tgv deletes, ARP hardware, ACL race bearings, etc. For my exhaust system I have the stock UEL manifold going to a grimmspeed ceramic coated up-pipe with a tial 38mm wastegate dumped to atmo (obviously).

Ive read that your running the 38m EWG, and opinions as to why not bigger persay like 44m? Also i have a cat back exhaust, i was going for the same setup as far as EWG, i was hoping with the EWG that the stock down would be more or less freed up to flow better for the turbo...I was wondering if you found this to some what true in your performance/opinion. I want to keep the tone down since i do allot of highway dont want to be droned out. ON another note sick whip, everybody has there own personality, those with none knock on others!

Jean Rivera Also, I'm not too fond of the wastegate flutter that comes with running a electronic boost control solenoid sometimes. By running a larger wastegate valve it is easier to encounter this flutter, when the solenoid causes the WG to open it can dump exhaust more efficiently. Because of this, the WG will close again to make sure that your boost doesn't drop, then the cycle repeats. The WG is dumping more exhaust than the turbo needs it to. I encountered this with a 38mm EWG but only with my stock turbo and very high boost pressure (25-27) and it was more common at low RPM because the turbo is basically maxed out at that point and opening up the wastegate will actually cause it to loose boost pressure.

are dilla I got my bubble shifter from intensepower.com I've heard ebay is a good place to look as well. The lockout isn't dependent on the shift knob at all so it was as easy as unscrewing the stock knob and screwing on the bubble shifter. Nothing special about it.

I was really tempted to get a grip royal as well but this one caught my eye. Yes, you lose cruise control unless you found some other way to wire it all up. Also the turn signals don't auto cancel when you turn the wheel straight anymore. But that could just be with my hub adapter. Maybe there are hub adapters on the market that still keep the turn signal cancelling mechanism.

hey, I've been wanting an aftermarket steering wheel setup for a long time but haven't been able to run one because I really value retaining my cruise control. How did you get an aftermarket wheel but still retain all that?

Well, I actually didn't retain cruise control. I had planned on wiring up my own cruise control switches at some point but, to be honest, I haven't missed it. My last car before this didn't have it so I guess I might be biased because I had already learned to live with a daily that didn't have cruise control. If you wanted to set up your own cruise control switches like I thought about, it wouldn't be too challenging as long as you have some kind of electrical background and knew how to read wiring diagrams. You could splice off the wires out of your steering column for the cruise control buttons and run them to your own buttons. Just take some dashboard pieces off, drill some holes and mount your buttons where you want, splice the appropriate wires and run them to the right buttons, put it all back together and you now have a dash mounted cruise control system and a aftermarket wheel.

Yes, I have both. EWG is part of the up-pipe in the exhaust, diverting exhaust around the turbo as a form of boost management. BOV is is mounted in the intake somewhere after the turbo. It is used to vent excess boost pressure when the throttle is closed. They are two totally separate entities, but it's pretty common for people to get them mixed up :)

Its a Tial 38mm EWG with a dump tube going straight to the ground. It's on a grimmspeed coated up-pipe.

marvin colato You will also need some for of boost control. The EWG has a spring in it but it also has a vacuum line running to it as well. You can get a manual boost control or electronic like I have. I'm also assuming you have a stock turbo with an internal wastegate, for that you will need a block off plate, which are cheap, or you can weld the internal wastegate shut if you know you won't ever switch back to IWG. That's what I did on this turbo but then bought a new turbo that doesn't have an IWG. If you are going to be going EWG and to atmosphere like mine, be warned, they are SERIOUS cop magnets. You can hear screamer pipes from a long way away and cops ears start perking up like puppies dogs if you are with a couple blocks of them lol.
