Before i watch this video i send my car at the toyota dealership and they give me a estimate for fixing my car and was approximately $9000. They pretend to change pistons and some other stuff. But i refused and did the same thing like in this video. I changed the catalytic converter and now my car work great. That works 100 %. Thank you

thanks for the video. it’s helping my troubleshooting process for my car of the same make model and year. I too burn oil excessively and have no (known or visible) leak. I’ve replaced a lot on my car - and I am getting close to the issue at hand. I am going to check the inside of my manifold for the cat once it cools off… see if mine is also clogged.

I have a same issue right now. Took it to the Toyota Dealer. First time they cleared the code but it coming up again on the road. And beeping and shutting off the car and locking the steering wheel. I got it tested in Autozone Tester. Changed the Mass Air Flow censor. Reset the battery 100 times because you can drive some time after resetting your battery. It happened again. Toyota told that aftermarket censor is not good and they installed their own OEM MAF censor. “Check hybrid system “ coming up again. They are still working on it. They did diagnostic on hybrid battery and everything is fine. So I called them and told it might be Catalytic Convertor and asked to drive without MAF censor. They said they are working on that. GREAT VIDEO. Thank you I have 2014 Toyota Camry Hybrid. 156 000 miles on it . First time encountered this problem and even Toyota having difficulty to find what is it. I took the car to them 3rd time in a week already

It's a hybrid so when you see ready on the dashboard, it means the car has started. The electrical part of the engine starts first before the mechanical engine.

Thanks for the video... well spent time for me...I've had to do similar troubleshooting out in the oilfield with the rig shutdown...first thing I learned is to add patience...esp when you don't know what you are doing...lol (new experience for first time or 10th)...i will assume the result in video was a bad catalytic converter....I have my third priius with 300k and I used an aftermarket cat for a corolla twice(cat low code was solved)...I'm in PGH,PA...my 4th back-up prius has an engine shudder which appears to occur when computer changes from batt to engine with load(like up a hill)...there is warning before in a slight stutter when adding gas pedal... first help is to surge the pedal like a wave accelerating engine to before the shudder occurs...less pedal repeat...If that doesn't help pull off road safely ..park... And turn engine OFF (rest {relax}) for 10min feels like 30...BUT think I am off the road safely and take time to think of five more options and think them through ...then restart car and drive forward... You may have to pull over several times to let car relax...but you will get home(I mean Toledo to Pittsburgh on Turnpike with several pull offs Rightside side for 10... again I thank you for your video good luck with your next Prius

06 Prius the knight before I got the P3190 code I had filled my car all the way up with fuel and drove it 5 miles to my house and parked it on our slanted driveway facing down hill Then in the morning when I started the car the check engine light came on with the triangle, The car was running rough as I was driving to work about a 2 mile drive But then the engine turned off halfway To my destination And the engine would not start and the battery had only 2 bars so I pulled over, I shut the vehicle off and turn it back on a couple of times then it started to run on its own again but kind of rough, When I ran the code I watched some KZbin videos to check out the the mass air flow intake notice it was clean then I erased the codes and then I started the car right back up and it ran perfectly fine without any more check engine lights, I think I may have overfilled my fuel tank and parked the car very soon after and possibly some disruption in the charcoal filter, I've been driving it for a few days now without any issue, I can't think of anything else

I like what you did, but why not check fuel pressure to see if there is a clogged fuel filter? That is more suspect to me than a cat...

I have same exact car and 3 days ago the red triangle 🔺 light “check hybrid system” came on and the car 🚘 is not drivable. Today I towed my car to the repair hybrid shop and waiting for the diagnostic results tomorrow. by the way mine has only 146k on it.

@@mrvic92154 Yes, in my case they found the cable that connected to the battery was loose! The main battery that located underneath the back seats and you can access it from the trunk. Was easy fix.

You're not supposed to drive in the b mode You pull that over to there when you want maximum regenerative braking to take place along with your foot breaking
