After my daughter was born(1977), I ordered one for her, and o e for my son or his wife, whoever she would be with their birth dates on them. I also ordered me one either both of their birth dates. I still have them. Maybe no g my daughters. I think she had it and I don't know what happened to it after she passed. Those pencils were neat. I have a carpenters pencil that was my grandfather's. I also have the secretariat he made for my grandmother. I remember loving the smell of all the papers and pencils every time it was opened. It even has the beveled Mirror on it. It's oak, I believe. Loved this video as I do all your videos. And I love you. Stay safe and healthy. ❤️😘💞💞💞💞🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏✌️👶

You got a lot of neat things. I was gifted a Gerber baby ring in 1978 when our twin boys were born. My mom worked at a grocery store and when the Gerber salesman found out I had twins he gifted us a box of goodies and the ring was in there. Still have it and still wear it.

As I watched this I thought use the green book, Hershey tags, fans, and start junk journaling. It doesn’t have to be perfect since it is a “junk” journal. You can do it!

Hi Renee, great finds today! The old hooked rug, get some good quality muslin or strong woven fabric and sew around the edges on front then turn over and whip stitch to back. Then you can hand wash, I would use dawn ultra blue - just let it soak, rinse good, roll in a towel (or two) and dry flat. A lot of time went into making these beautiful old rugs and we should preserve and cherish them. Blessings! Pam

Dawn Ultra Blue - will do! I usually do a lot of airing out on the rugs, but this rug thankfully just has the usual "old" smell, which a day outside will take care of. I've come across a few other nice old rugs but the smell of cat urine was too strong and the rug too large to attempt to remove the odor.

@@PaperandMoose you can get rug bias tape and hand stitch ( if you don’t have sewing machine). It would clean up your edges nicely.

The nice smile on your early morning face, says it all regarding the finds! I see a group of good 'ol glass insulators! After some repairs, your rug would make a neat wall hanging. American Heritage...remember that book well. Again, it amazes me...all the items the sellers have! We had a huge flea market...Marin Flea...it is now site of housing...two others are also gone, as well as a large indoor vendors' complex...it occupied the former W & J Sloan Furniture Wearhouse...I bought several things there. One of the ladies I knew was Doris, her area featured a variety of vintage items...so was she... 99, going on 100 years of age...sharp as a person half her time on this earth! She and her son were the greatest. That tinplate model of what looks like a hay baler, would have been in my bag! Nice haul, Renee!

Great flea market expedition with a perfect new hair style ! 👌I like the Hershey box, it´s very stylish. The price for the pencils might be reasonable for some really old brands, but not for every single item. 10:35 Take a closer look to the coins and medals in these boxes, sometimes you may find a variety of small Civil War tokens inside (value between 20,-/50,- bucks). Hope you have a relaxing and sunny Sunday, Renée ! 🌞 Greets from GER, U. P.S. Be aware of some new "cancer" scam comments, I just got one on another channel. 😐

I did see that the scammer channel posted on one of my videos yesterday, seem they created yet another channel using the same video, so they have been blocked (yet again). I agree on the pencils, especially in regards to what advertising was on them. Wish I knew what auction they attended to scoop up two boxes of vintage pencils, I need to go to that auction! I'll have to add the Civil War tokens to my research list, always useful to have an idea of what something looks like... the hard part is remembering! Hope you have a wonderful upcoming week!

Lots of good items today. I also think the rug is really nice. Maybe you should see if you can find someone to put a binding on it to keep it from getting more damage. It would help preserve it and maybe could add a piece on the back to add a rod or dowel and you could hang it up. But I also love the fans. It would be great to get a better look at them. That was a great video - thank you! So your aunt made sock monkeys and never made one for you?! Ha - my aunt once gave me a box filled with coal as a gag Christmas gift! At least, I hope it was a gag ... I think I was about four years old. I guess I could ask her - just as soon as I can get in touch with one of those seances or something. Wow, everything that you picked up was just plain incredible! The rug was absolutely tip-top. A bit of that spray-on, vacuum-off rug cleaner would really make that look even better and with just a bit of needle and thread, you'd be all set! And all for a buck! Those Japanese fans, with the geishas, looked really old - easy from the 1920s. Beautiful photographs of them, too. Golly, when you were walking to the place, and you see that the flea market area is behind people's homes, like almost in their backyards ... If I lived there, I'd show up at the market first thing in the morning, every time they set up. Thanks again for the really enjoyable walk through the flea market. It certainly was a trip!

Hello Renee. That was fun . So many cool things to see there. I’m gonna have to say my favorite find of your items are the pictures. They just pop out at me. I love the Halloween costumes to , the Devil is so nice. Oh I forgot the Asian fans so pretty . What a lovely day you had. Take care. And may your next treasure hunt be filled with vintage happiness. 🕵🏼‍♀️🕵🏼‍♀️🕵🏼‍♀️🕵🏼‍♀️🕵🏼‍♀️🕵🏼‍♀️🕵🏼‍♀️☕️🫖☕️🫖☕️🫖🥰🥰💯💯💯💯💯💯💯

The pictures were a nice find, different subject matter than the average portrait, which I usually come across. My trip to the flea market today was a good one, so it was filled with vintage happiness! Hope you have a wonderful upcoming week!

Should look for anything with a red handle ( kitchen utensils). They are usually old and very collectible.

Also cookie cutters. The ones with the red and green handles on them.
