My brother and I would make a meal out of 4 of the El Monterrey beef and bean burritos. We would microwave 2 each and cover them with a can of Walmart bean chili (half a can each). We would then cover that with the taco blend cheese with taco seasoning. It made a cheap filling dinner after 8 and a half hours of work out in the southern sun. Plus the chemical warfare later was a bonus.

Back when I was a connoisseur of cheap frozen burritos, I found that when they were on sale they were the 'freshest', I'd guess because they were coming straight off the warehouse truck. With 'fresh' frozen burritos there was no freezer burn or large ice crytals, and they could be defrosted in the fridge and unfolded without breaking the tortilla. Then you add a slice of cheese and maybe a few whole beans and refold and heat for a much better burrito, but still cheap and easy. Older shelf stock from non-sale periods seemed like they'd probably sat there the whole time between sales. There was a noticable difference in quality, with the freshest ones getting a 'good' rating and older stock degrading until finally earning an 'edible' rating.

The best way to heat frozen burritos, is microwave them in there bag so they steam a bit and get wet, then throw them into the air fryer at 350 for about 4 to 7 min depending on the burrito/equipment used. Then after it's all done dust it with a little parmesan and salsa to dip... perfectly cooked inside, crispy oily outside.. trust me.. you HAVE to use both. Microwave first then air fryer, the moisture is what prevents it from getting super dry @thewolfepit

I pretty much gave up on frozen burritos several years ago. Sometimes the ones at costco are okay (and the chimichangas are better). But the best plan is to instead buy some refried beans, a seasoning packet eg "taco seasoning", tortillas, a cheese of your choice (or multiple), and some meat of your choice (ground is easiest) in the quantity to match the seasoning. I usually buy fairly lean meat and usually a pound or so of meat with a packet of seasoning will create about a dozen basic "meat, bean and cheese" burritos. Fry up the meat, and when cooked add the seasoning to the meat and let it simmer away the water. While the meat is cooking slice or grate the cheese and open the beans. Spread a scoop of beans down the center on each tortilla, add some cheese, some meat, fold over one side, the two ends, roll, and put into an empty bread bag. The first time you do this it will take a while, but you'll get faster! When the meat is gone, you are done. Sometimes I'll mix the meat and beans together so they come out even. Tie the bag closed and freeze. I don't usually have much trouble with them sticking together, but you could do a quick wrap with plastic wrap around each one. Variants: mix in frozen (heat first) or canned corn, a can of diced chillis, some diced olives, black beans, whatever you want to eat in your burrito. Heat however, serve however (maybe plain, or maybe some cheese melted on top, some salsa, a scoop each of sour cream and and guacamole). Great, it's bed time and I'm hungry!

Tip from a Mexican Citizen who actually lives in México and cooks: Do not put rice in your burrito/tacos... That is a big NO NO... We just do not do that nor like that. 2. Beans are great on burritos/tacos, just make sure to put refried beans, the spread kind... Makes it easier to eat and also tastes way better. 3 we do not put olives on anything, try to avoid them. 4.
