I hate just making 30k on my flips. Can't wait to move into the commercial side.

I confess to preferring a lot of the original elements, in the "before" version. The bamboo tiling, the interesting stonework on the bathroom shower, I feel could have been preserved and even highlighted. I understand that the goal was to sell to a "vanilla" market, but I wonder if you had brought buyers into the older version of the house and sold them on the artistic original elements, and then done the other changes to bring some of the other things up to date, could you have actually garnered a better profit?

How many years do I have to save money to buy something like this? No, really, how much does a house like this cost? And what about running costs?
@philcurtis42562 күн бұрын
It’s not just about saving money, it’s about making your money work for you. A house like this takes more than just discipline, smart financial decisions and investments play a huge role.

Agreed. I bought my first home after working with a financial advisor, Graham David Fullerton. He guided me through a series of investments that grew my savings significantly. It wasn’t easy, but it paid off.

Green bathroom tile looks the worse you ever done. Profit margin are too thin. Just 10% decrease in home price and it’s a loss investment.

All the flips have removed tubs. Kids need baths. Mother's love to soak in a tub to relax and pamper herself. Even the poorest can afford to do this for herself. Even men like to soak occasionally. Leave them in! We only have to put them back.

The right furniture with those walls looked great. I've seen it all done before. To look without anything there. You won't get it. If you have no imagination.

I couldn’t finish watching your video. The way you criticize and demean the previous owners of this house is really disappointing. They made design choices based on their personal taste and resources, not to cater to the lowest common denominator for profit. They were living in a space they enjoyed, and I think it’s disrespectful to tear that down. It made me sad to watch, and I won’t be continuing with your content.

Thermofoil cabinets make's it look cheap and ugly. How much money do they take? This house did not even sell for their asking. Drop it any lower. They will make no money on this. I hate when people talks about listing price and potential profit. And not actually profit.

Born in Dallas, spent most of my life in Arlington. I can’t imagine anyone would pay over $300k for this, let alone over a hall of million for it. It is nice, but realestate has gotten out of hand. Moved three years ago to rual Texas…no mortgage. Best of luck finding someone to pay that much for so little.

I liked the old front door much better.
@brythewiseguy8 күн бұрын
This home is designed completely off. There is a huge visible break in the turf in the front yard? Why are there cabinets where the bar stools are supposed to go? The staging is absolutely horrible. You have no access to the backyard unless you go through the bedroom on the back? You walk straight into the dining room/kitchen? Why did you put a shower in the front powder room? Are guests coming over to eat dinner and shower? If you're gonna do a shower that big in the primary, just put large waterfall shower heads in the ceiling. Go big or go home? And a sliding door right next to where the bed is? Hopefully someone doesn't try to break into your home while you are sleeping because you are dead before you even know they are there. Whoever designed the layout of this house needs to probably do some studying on making the home easy to maneuver through for not only the buyer, but guests as well. Not a lot of thought put into it. I wouldn't buy this home for what you guys originally bought it for simply because of how the layout was designed. And the materials used just look cheap. It's a 2/10 for me.

I'm sorry Lorraine, the tiling of this house is not to my liking, too many patterns, colours, qualities and putting the darker tiles up in the shower looks like an afterthought. The double-width island looks really disproportionate in the space, there's no room for the dining chairs, even if you choose a rectangular table. This is not my favourite design :(

Who the heck covers perfectly fine windows with a giant, cumbersome, UGLY headboard? And the chandelier in that bedroom is also cumbersome and ugly, so I guess it was the theme for the room. 😅 Usually Lincoln and Lauren hit a home run with their flips, but this master bedroom is definitely a swing and a miss. I hope the occupant took care of that disaster ASAP. Still love the videos. No one is perfect and we all fudge up. Thanks for the great content, Flipsters!!

600k for a small house that looks at most 1400 sqaure footage is diabolical. lol houses like those are going at most 330k in DFW.
@hannahlg228 күн бұрын
Maybe in the outskirts of DFW but this house is in Dallas proper, unfortunately it is actually that expensive here 😭
@carmenburnham108813 күн бұрын
Such a shame the cost of that house. It was probably built for $5000 dollars. Dallas is not cowboy country but maybe you could bring it back. Dallas, Frisco and Southlake are not Western but surrounding areas are. But we have a lot of transplants who do not own the whole cowboy cotton eyed joe thing.

I would’ve just power washed the exterior brick. The all white painted brick just SCREAMS flipped house. HATE the green fireplace and the wallpaper. There’s no consistency and flow with the super modern kitchen, the quirky green fireplace and then the matronly wallpaper. Also hate the floral wallpaper in the bathroom. Again there’s no consistency.
@nightbender925013 күн бұрын
I think the kitchen is a great example of a cost effective makeover for homeowners they can do to their own kitchens: paint the cabinets, add hardware, new backsplash and maybe updating the countertop

Sorry if I missed this. Are realtor costs (5% of the 699k sales price) included in the profit calculation or was this sold off market ?
@traciannveno13 күн бұрын
That original style if they had more budget and bit of more design help was really beautiful. I really love themed out saturated styles. The original owner was getting somewhere. It’s easy to have what the end result was after they redid it to make it more normal haha, you see that everywhere. But to do something amazing and different I only see in really high end homes where they have the budget for it. To bad in order to sell real estate it has to be neutral.

Nothing done to that back wall, I know not cost effective but I;d look at that and leave having never gone upstairs. Also wallpaper... never have liked it and still don't. Doing that much crane crap in the tiny space limits who that would appeal to, not sure why you would make that design choice when you aim to sell.

You should’ve just closed that window, it would’ve been a better living room space. And that island is too big for the kitchen size, it takes space from dining space.

Hi Austin Flippers! The house turned out beautiful! The dining area is a little small and not enough room for stools at the island. Maybe next time you have a small area think about a banquet table with storage in the seating area. You would have given the new homeowner a much larger gathering area. Cheers!
@heidifritz305311 күн бұрын
When I saw the oversized island and the crowded eating area, I immediately thought of a banquette placed there instead. The island could’ve been pared down a bit and not extend so far. It looks like it could inhibit traffic flow a bit.
