1-10-21 adding a foot switch to my Powersmart PS90, electric log splitter

This will probably void all warranties but is necessary to use this machine to cut kindling. The switch that I bought from Amazon cost me about $20. This is a pretty simple fix and I did it without buying anything new from the store other than the switch itself. Just used crap I had lying around.

I just wired two ends of a plug into that exact switch by itself. Plug in one end to the outlet and the other into the splitter, clamped the button in the on position on the splitter. Now I have a foot switch that I can use on a bunch of other things and my splitter is not tampered with.

Try using a heat gun. It will get hot enough to melt the solder without burning anything up.

Go to Amazon.com and search industrial foot switch. It’s the first thing that pops up. Costs $22.95

Why couldn’t you take switch off & put on a toggle switch

I hope I'm remembering this correctly, but I think the hydraulic lever is only one way. You have to kill the pump to retract the ram.

What you do is against the law
