I had a Loud servo like that and replaced it with a Holmes hobby SHV800, noiseless.. I also mounted it to the axle now, much better..

Yeah the HH SHV500 v3 is super loud especially compared to 800 :(

I noticed in your 'planned upgrades' that you have the excellent 1080esc but also the Crawlmaster 550 10t motor on the list. I think if you read the specs for the 1080 you will find that when running a 3s lipo the Crawlmaster 550 12t is maxing out the speed control. It works for me without overheating but has plenty of power. The 10t is in spec if you are running a 2s lipo. Thanks for your whole playlist on the Ecto. I'm looking forward to getting it for my next rig.

Thanks for the info. The specs sheet for 1080esc is not very clear on how many pole motor it is. Crawlmaster is 5 pole motor while Trailmaster is 3 pole motor. I would never run such low xxt on Trailmaster, but for Crawlmaster it seems to be fine. I have run with 1080+Crawlmaster 550 10t for several months on another rig, and I never had any issues...and I checked with heat gun.

The Ecto is an amazing rig! You should really look into the RockPirates RC sliders for the Ecto. Happy crawling!

Super late comment. Don't do this mod if you switch between body and cage.

Thanks for the info. You can always move to magnetized setup and not worry about drilling new holes.
