@@rileykairc Glad to hear. I really like it for my crawlers. Now if you plan to do mainly trailing, then 25% overdrive might be too much, and I would recommend going down to 11.83% or keeping at stock 5.7%. But for crawlers, this is the way to go...just my personal opinion.

I am out of town, but here’s hiw you can search for it. Google search for team knk hardware. Once at the site, search for element overdrive and it should bring it up.

Technically that's not overdrive by itself. Overdrive by itself is when you gear up till lost of max power, to gain efficiency in energy. What you have is "front-overdrive" (which a rockcraler is never truly in overdrive just less underdrive - but it's called front-overdrive to keep it simple)... The main reason I'm pointing this out - Is (rare but) some RC setups (usually when you need more rotating on power) will run rear-overdrive.
@BigSungHobbies2 жыл бұрын
Technically, you are correct. The correct term for Element transmission is underdrive as the rear axle spins slower than front axle. That being said if you rotate the wheels, the front wheel will have more rotation than the rear wheels thus mimicking front overdrive. One reason why vendors like Team KNK Hardware calls their gear overdrive gears.
@gatorage8502 жыл бұрын
@@BigSungHobbies but see the problem is not the technicality (it could just be me for i run OD in many different ways on many car types and bit lower knowledge on crawlers) - it's your title... if you read it - I would presume you're adding equal wheel speed for you did not indicate front. my next guess would be front OD, and a small chance of rear OD (really small chance in a crawler - still would be a good compare video). I had to watch the video and was like Oh! also on my end, i thought it was a performance difference/compare video (just skimming keywords, looking at the video preview, and your past videos) so i doubled lost heading into your video 🤣😂🤣... keep up the good work!!!
@BigSungHobbies2 жыл бұрын
It could be that you are coming from different car types. For crawlers, it's pretty much understood to say Overdrive to mean that the front wheels are rotating at faster rate than rear wheels, so there is no need to mention that. Additionally, Element axles do not have over/underdrive gear options. The overdrive is achieved via the transmission. You can find more detail on the Overdrive Gears from Team KnK Hardware website. It is marketed as 25% Overdrive, and the description clearly says, "Installing these gears will underdrive your rear output on the transmission therefore creating a 25% overdrive in the truck. This allows the torque and gear ratio to remain the same on the front axle." If you run a tire rotation test, then you can clearly see that the front is being overdriven (in our case via reduction on the rear). If there is 0% overdrive, then front wheels will rotate the same amount as rear wheels. For example, if the front wheel spins 10 times, then rear will spin 10 times. With the Overdrive Gears (where it is technically underdriving the rear) installed, if the front wheels spins around 10 times, then the rear wheels will spin 7.5 rotations in the same timeframe. I have done videos that compare 5.83% vs. 11.83% overdrive gears. For crawlers, you want the front wheel to spin faster than the rear so that it can help with traction. At some point, there is negative return; therefore, as for how much overdrive, that's another story. teamknkhardware.com/overdrive-gears/1445-element-25-overdrive-gears.html
