When I found that out, I traded in Old Reliable (started in -42°F, only needed a battery during the 5yrs of owning it) as the down payment. Slightly worried on how extreme cold starts work with the stupid push button start... not like you can just hold the key on “start” until the engine starts. Now, my mpgs went down.... but my smiles per gallon (SPG) went way up!! Especially now that it’s winter. 😌

knurri From what I’ve heard. Insurance rates are costly if either you drive a sports car, 2 door coupe car, or vehicle with bad reputation. The Subaru WRX based on data is one of the most ticketed vehicle here in the US. It is a risk for insurance companies to take someone in hence why insurance is so expensive from the three reasons I mentioned. Especially for young folks who plan to own a WRX, it may be costly at first because of the risk they are taking to sign you. This Vehicle platform is known for being modded so it is a no brainer. Insurance companies are taking no chances because they assume every WRX/STI or any other high insurance vehicle to be Aggressive/Reckless drivers. When I was 17 they accused me of being a drug dealer and stealing my own car. I totaled my car, got a check two weeks later paying off that car - went back to the dealership and bought the same exact car. To save a few hundred dollars and to avoid those stupid paper plates the dealer offered to "transfer" the metal plates which were still good for 1-1/2years onto my 2nd new car. Literally three days later a cop runs my metal tags pulls me over, checks the vin, and says "These tags are coming back to this make, model, color vehicle but the vin has been changed" completely ignoring my registration which said "For transfer of metal plates" he arrested me for being in possession of a possible unreported stolen vehicle or doing something involving stealing high end muscle cars because he refused to believe "what I just told you here" then searched my car for drugs with 13 police officers standing around. Fucking idiots!!!!

Lol one time I was doing 110km/h (68mph) through a 50km/h (31mph) speed limit area on my bike and didn't notice i was being chased by an unmarked cop car until I stopped at my house. He then pulled up and jumped out of his car and started lecturing me and he yelled "HOW FAST DO YOU THINK YOU WERE GOING?" and I was like "110.." and he was like "YEAH THAT'S.. Y-yeah, that's how fast you were going.." Fortunately for me he wasn't able to measure my speed properly because he had trouble keeping up with me through the traffic while also considering road safety. He then proceeded to rant for about 5-10 minutes about how I'm lucky to be alive and let me go since he had no option. This is in the Netherlands and a cop can't write you a ticket or take your license without any proof (either a dashcam recording where they measure your average speed over a certain stretch of road, or a laser) and even me casually admitting how fast I went didn't make a difference.
