Awesome tutorial. I just bought my son a KTM 150 for racing and weve never had one, always had japanese bikes so i'm going to need to know these little differences when rebuilding.

Thanks! Yeah the KTM is surely just a little different. Mainly the cylinder base gasket, getting the right one.

It's just put together incorrectly on the inside so I will be splitting the cases this Saturday so excited this is not costing me any more money just time an learning how to build something Yamaha obviously never wanted to happen because they didn't want to beat ktm is what I think but my Yamaha is a Frankenstein.

@oBlair65o people were blowing rods under 15 hours. That's why ktm did a CDI recall. Basically a bandaid fix. They switched manufactures for 2022 I believe and they were junk. The crank was soon replaced with a different part number

was wondering when you use an impact driver to tighten the clutch does the tool itself keep it from spinning and how accurate is your torque do you think? thank you I haven't used an impact driver really at all, also would an electric impact driver work the same?
@UpAllNight915 ай бұрын
The way the impact hits in snaps, it keeps it from just spinning. If you get a electric impact be sure to get a good one that has at least 2 or 3 different power settings. The torque is accurate enough if you are very familiar with your tools and been doing this for years but because of this I think I may stop using the impact as much in my videos and resort to a torque wrench and locking the motor from spinning just because I know most the guys watching these don't have that kind of experience and my goal is to get them through the job with good results.

I'm at the point where I'm trying to pull the bearing using the blind bearing puller. I'm afraid to crack the case using the tool because that bearing is really in there. I don't want to scuff up the inside area where the crankshaft spins. Have you ever cracked a case using that tool or scuffed up the inside crank area?
@UpAllNight915 ай бұрын
Hello. I have never had a issue where its damaged anything using the blind bearing puller. But what you can do is heat the whole case to about 170 degrees and that should surely allow it to be pulled out easier.
@UpAllNight915 ай бұрын
You can set you oven to 170 degrees, put the case in there for about 5 or 10 minutes.
@76skyking5 ай бұрын
I’ll try that. Thanks!
@CZwies206 ай бұрын
why didnt you do the transmission bearings?
@UpAllNight916 ай бұрын
Hello. At the time the bike only had about 60 hours on it and the transmission and transmission bearings where fine. We just needed to get a new crank and crank bearings in there.

Like how ktm rod/main bearings normally last longer then Yamaha
@UpAllNight91 Жыл бұрын
I think it comes down to the state of tune. And the premix ratio. If its tuned well and enough oil is used the bearing should last a good full life
