If you iron Bondaweb, a double sided very thin interfacing, (there are equivalents around the world with different names) to the back of the fabric before cutting it out, you can then simply iron the hems into place. This is much neater and less prone to getting glue on fabric. I would also measure the hems as I turn them for accuracy, especially on such small items where tiny amounts matter. I am a textile designer turned hobby miniaturist, so shudder at the use of messy glue on fabrics (well, I would get into a mess anyway)!

I have a House of Miniatures 4 poster bed and now need to make a bedspread for it. This tutorial made me feel like I can do this! Any more "no sew" tutorials or tips you have would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Good luck with the bedspread Beth. I will add some more 'no sew' projects to my list. Thank you for watching.

my miter box and saw tear the bamboo sticks to shreds. That stuff doesn't cut easily. How do you do it?

I'm not sure why that's happening - do make sure your blade is sharp, but if you don't have any joy, perhaps try a hand-held guillotine...?

I love your attention to tiny details. May I ask, why you don’t sew hems, etc?

Thanks Maggie. I get asked a lot for 'no sew' projects, as it's a quicker way of doing things. Some things I prefer to sew as it gives a better finish, with my bedding for example.

You know Ultra firm hold hair spray works a dream for the pleating as well as spraying the fabric with watered down PVA does. It's less messy than using straight glue and it's something I learned from wigging and dressing small dolls. Thanks though, for demystifying curtains and blinds which scare me at 12th scale!

Thanks for the tips - I would never have considered hairspray! :)

Where do you find fabrics and wall paper
@JulieWarren

There are several mini suppliers of both fabric and paper, try searching on Etsy. I like Little Trimmings for fabrics and have bought wallpaper from many different retailers. :)
